Have you heard the Lloyd Webber album in question?
What about it "degenerates the reputation of prog"?
It's better than a great deal of Prog Rock albums that I've heard, and although it's not going to be to everyone's taste, there's absolutely no denying its Progginess and the enormous technical credibility of the music and musicians involved.
Or can you actually back up your statement with anything other than opinion?
And as for your comment on the Beatles, what shakey ground would that be?
Their place in Prog's history seems pretty solid to me.

You just made that up
I fail to see what's "Pop" about Kid A or Amnesiac - even the rock is minimal - and I hear nothing industrial in their music at all.
So three more inappropriate adjectives could not have been chosen

Yes, many...I think about Queen I.E, which is too commercial IMO. But there's far worst: loads of atrocious metal/trash bands.

Just like "Under the Iron Sea" by Keane - which is clearly an industrial rock album...
and Iron Maiden, - that great industrial band...

These are the really questionable of the ones I've heard:
Rhapsody
Triumph
Lacrimosa
Nightwish
Stating that Radiohead is about as prog as the Bay City Rollers if
you've actually heard their albums, is just crazy. I think both Queen
and Deep Purple has enough relevant albums in their early years. Just
like ELO has.

I'd still like to understand why anyone would hold those rather mystifying opinions.

Deep Purple - boring. Richie Blackmore sticking his guitar into a camera at Cal Jam because he knew Emerson's flying piano was better than anything they could come up with. Saw them again recently Zzzzzzzzzzzz. About as progressive as my hemaroids.
Queen - do me a favour..why do people rate this mediocre rip off group.
Radiohead. OK - or should I say totally unique and brilliant. No, just OK.
Don't know the rest i'm sad to say...

But seriously my reason for the Beatles on shaky ground is the fact that they are included but artists like Miles Davis and John Coltrane are excluded. Davis invented fusion and Coltrane's work was avant garde and had an effect on the psychie of a lot of prog musicians. Come to think of it if the Beatles are here Stochausen should be. I think having the Beatles here opens a whole can of worms and creates a lot of inconsistencies on the website. I have nothing against their music I';ve owned a couple of their albums.

Have you seen the DVD 72/73?
If you saw them recently, Ritchie Blackmore wasnīt the guitarist. He hasnīt been in the band for the last ten years!

Listen to Queen 2
