Oh, you were listening to Styx. :/ I retract my high five.

I think my favorite non-prog rock album is Now You Are One of Us by The Paper Chase, but I don't have many of them...

Hey, I didn't enjoy it. I am just going through my hard rock collection to write reviews. So, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Styx, The Who, Queen (I'll be getting to that soon, and I dread it). Why can't they ever have decent lyrics? And why does it all bore me to death?

Ermm Never thought I'd see Styx in the same sentence as The Who...

The Who are not a hard rock band. Listen to Sell Out or By the Numbers...sure they can rock but after their debut its all art rock. And as for hating them...I don't think The Who ever cared if anybody liked them or not, considering they did whatever they wanted to do musically

I don't really understand this attitude towards any of these bands.  Unfortunately, I see it more and more on these pages and it just makes this site that much less enjoyable to visit.  It kind of makes me sad how much hatred that all of these young guys are carrying around with them.

I try to keep as open-minded to music as possible, and I think that other people who don't are simply missing out.

Oh, come now. It isn't as if I think they shouldn't exist. I just dislike them. Do I have to enjoy their music?

I noticed prog is becoming even a smaller part of my daily listenings.

RIP in bossa nova heaven.

No. In fact, I used to be more into Led Zeppelin, but I'm not really anymore... and I never really was into the Who or any of those bands either; they're not generally my thing. I tend to drift in different stylistic areas more.

I wasn't saying YOU weren't being open-minded either, just that certain people aren't. Smile

Mine's decreased because of jazz, but it's still dominating.

Jazz is only a small part too.

I'm getting too ecclectic. LOL

RIP in bossa nova heaven.

Mine is strange. I went form TSO to Queen (that was more of a business venture) to Peter era Genesis to Roger Waters solo, to Danzig.

I haven't heard them, so I don't know.

But for now I'm sticking with Mr. Bungle.

I've always been partial to Mr. Bungle. None of their albums managed to impress me fully.

Which is your favorite?

Mine is Disco Volante.

RIP in bossa nova heaven.

Hope you're all doing well, guys... I'm taking a break from here, but sometimes I drop by and see the changes. Cool new name, PatThumbs Up! And Scott, I absolutely agree about the 'hatred' some people seem to enjoy showing... It is one of the reasons why I have decided to keep away from things for a while.

I keep going back and forth with my favorite. First it was Disco Volante, then California, then Disco Volante... now I have no idea. One of those two, but they're both way too different for me to decide. I guess it depends on what I want.
