That's because "Bee As Such" is only available from the homepage of Amon Düül 2. Here a link:
http://www.amonduul.de/

Sad thing is that the website, which I think is ruled by the guitarist, does not like Nada Moonshine# and does not mention it, the last time I looked. He also sent me an email condemning the album "Utopia" as "b*****d" ... which is sad, since there is at least one piece, they played in other albums, and this is where the original is, not to mention a couple of other really nice pieces.

It's hard to believe that some of the ugly things in those days, are still alive in Europe ... but it is the history of Europe and its many wars  for so long ... but artistically, John might say that I have no idea what I'm talking about ... but this is like putting your child in jail for life. But obviously, someone walked away with some money and stole it! But there are some awesome things in there! Not the kind that are like the older AD2, but stuff that was much more modern. My review of it at the time, specified that the only thing missing was that the songs were not allowed to fly and jam a little more ... but the production and the material was better than anything they did since Hijack! Maybe Made in Germany down to a single album!

I love the fact that you got cassettes with Amon DüülCool

I like these albums ... however, they are a throwback to a time and place when you sat, got stoned and listened to music ... and it didn't matter what was playing or what was happening.

Today, this can not be done, and no one does these kinds of things ... a few years back, the raves tried to do this, but the whole thing was centered around just one beat ... and these are definitly NOT centered around one beat and many times they change and become something else.

There is no rock music, anywhere ... that is like this or does this ... specially when the "idea" is NOT to be musically defined ... this is about the "moment", never the music! And this is the reason why AD2's first album was so important, by using the previous experience. It was all about getting stoned, having sex and a party! And the whole piece is like that, ending with a raucous rock piece. I really thought that the conceptual element in the whole band were never so clear, as they became right there ... they wanted to make "music" ... and the previous thing was just a commune getting stoned and playing, regardless of who was there or showed up. And if it had "music" in it, it was almost incidental.

That is essentially also what I got out of the music regarding the flow of things. While the first piece of Paradis starts out pretty controlled and melodically structured, something disintegrating happens all of a sudden and the music starts to fade out in these long meandering folk jams. Funny thing about it though, is that I actually find the 'together' bits much more appealing than the freak outs. Cream and Jimi were much better at that particular psychedelic overdrive improv.
Still, I really dig this record. Feels like a touch of history behind one of my favourite bands while maintaining enough umph to keep me interested.

If you dig the long uninterrupted genius of Falsini's more serene side, then I absolutely agree with you. I find the album quite mesmerising myself.

Sweet man! I have the Tiger album and I just love it.
I will definitely check this one out, but it's close to 4 in the morning here, and I am told that 'jobs' still are a-go on Fridays. Damn, in this day and age...
Tomorrow then. Thanks for the clip btw - very cool!

I only read up to page 8, but am quite surprised that there was no mention of Triumvirat or Joy Unlimited.

It's a common misconception that Krautrock equates German rock, but that is not the case. Triumvirat never sounded like their fellow countrymen from the Krautlands - they played highly intricate symphonic music. Joy Unlimited are listed here under eclectic, but I must confess that I don't know them.
Krautrock, in short, revolves around loosely played psychedelic music, improv, motorik laden grooves, avant-garde and in some instances a particular form of zany fusion.

Hey man, I'm sorry if my last post came off sounding patronizing. I certainly didn't mean for it to be.
Modern stickers are indeed hard to juggle around and navigate between, and in many cases you'll have overlapping acts that end up defying everything you try and box them in with.

As for your question, no Nektar aren't really considered as a Krautrock band - on here they're parked in psych. Though, one could argue that, at least during their early days, they were part of the scene - even incorporating several facets of the style into their music. Journey comes close in my opinion, but then again, it also sounds very close to the sort of psychedelic rock that Floyd were dishing out a couple of years earlier.

Joy Unlimited is a killa Kraut band for me, though they've been added in Eclectic. Thumbs Up

I've posted this on the italian Den, but it certainly belongs here too. Sensations FIx is for me the most important Krautrock band with Can. Their album Portable Madness is the only one  I can compare with Future Days. This compilation includes 28 tracks of their best work.remixed by the leader of the band Franco Falsini. The music is absolutely fantastic, full of light (not only fragments) and spirituality. At the same time it's very organic. I love the sound of every instrument. That kind of recording can't get old.
If the real teasure of 2012 wasn't the lost tapes of Can but this one ? Tongue
