Hello, Harry. How have you been?

Been a bit away from the computer as you can see this weekend.
Yesterday morning, went out to a guitar store, played a 7 string guitar, tried an amp.

Last night (well technically today really, since I went out after midnight) I hung out with my friend Kellie, met her friend Tara, then had some complicated issues along the way that weren't meant to happen, but made it safely back to Tara's house and all 3 of us squished in her bed, and considering it's summer, the next morning we were all sweaty and yucky feeling LOL

Shocked  Well done LOL

Their debut, not particularly progressive, metalcore sounding, not that great IMO.
Their second album, less metalcore, more prog, not bad.
Their 3rd album I love.
Their 4th album, Colors, was the best metal release of 2007 IMO and for me personally, beats the pants off Scenes From a Memory.

You should.Big smile Start with Colors. It's easily one of my top 3 metal albums ever.

I'm giving it a second listen right now.

Unfortunately, I'm still not very impressed. I'll still listen to the whole thing though.

I suppose difference in taste can fully explain that.

I'm not impressed by Colors, but SFAM always blows me away. Again, I'll still give Colors more chances.

Bah, I love Opeth and Meshuggah growling, but BTBAM's can get on my nerves.

Ohh, she had a double bed at least, but I was getting paranoid about one of my arms hanging off the side of the bed (paranoid about nerve damage, haha) so I had to squish up against Tara kinda (she was in the middle), which didn't make for a comfortable temperature in the bed. plus from time to time, the girls would seem to drag the bed sheets towards the other end of the bed, so I had to keep figdgeting around to get the blanket backLOL

It's not so much an apples to apples comparison, bear that in mind.
Colors is about, say 85 per cent death growls and musically, they are a death metal focused band, rather than the more melodic Dream Theater sound.

Man, what the hell?

I simply can't stand this anymore. Again, I love Meshuggah, Opeth, and others, but this is simply not working for me. I'll try it another day I suppose.

That hardly ever happens where I have to stop an album like that.

Haven't been listening to much metal lately, in fact the only thing I've been listening to in that category is Traced in Air.  But still, BTBAM seems to be high on everyone's list, so I at least want to check them out - of course, I've wanted to for a long time, back when Jody was playing "Alaska" non-stop.  LOL

Fail.
Meshuggah's main vocal style is hardcore screams.
But yes, Akerfeldt has arguably one of the best growls in death metal ever. He's definitely one top of the best vocalists in metal IMO.

How is that fail? Confused

I tried listening to the album TWICE today but I simply couldn't stand it. I even said I was going to try it again more.

Well, you can't like EVERY band on PA. If you do, then you don't have developed tastes.
