I thought the 1997 remaster sounded fine. I have an original of Grace Under Pressure as well, which sounded pretty good, but the remaster gave the album more clarity I thought.

I have always thought I have a bad CD pressing since the vinyl version is so much better. Mine is too bright and no depth.... |

I have no such problems with mine, but will freely admit the original CD issue is much warmer, but this is such a subjective thing talking about the audio quality.

Now:
I really have a love/hate relationship with this band. I just don't know if I really like Hogarth's voice. I think a lot of times he just sings WAY TOO MUCH. For me, the whole idea of progressive rock is there to be less emphasis on vocals and more on the instrumental aspect of the music. Hogarth seems to not understand that it's the music that guilds the vocals and not the other way around. Anathema is another band that grates on my nerves as that lead vocalist doesn't know when to put a sock in it. There are times when Hogarth doesn't bother me, but I think a lot of it has to do with the tonality of his voice and that nasally sound. I also don't like his vibrato when he finishes say a loud passage. But I've overlooked this in the past because of Rothery's emotive guitar playing. I just don't know how much longer I can stand Hogarth.

Oh my - For the first time since it was recorded in East Berlin over 30 years ago the music of Martin Zeichnete can finally be heard. A disciple of the Kosmische Muzik of the likes of Kraftwerk, Can and Neu! that was drifting across the Wall from the West, Martin's idea of using the motorik, hypnotic beat of krautrock in the training of athletes was taken and exploited by the DDRs Olympic Committee... http://kosmischerlaufer.bandcamp.com/album/volume-one Too bad its not for real, but still genius.
