That's the thing, teachers can be quite reasonable if you don't bullsh*t them and you're not one to usually not hand work in, or whatever.

Here's something for Pat and Alex to try:

Go to Wikipedia and type in Stockholm into the search box.

It's epic.

Well to be honest I've been a pretty terrible student for this guy. LOL Music theory does not excite me, even though I play a little bit of piano (although learning it as I do these papers all in one go has been an interesting experience to see how it all fits together), and this is a period where I've kind of been a schmuck. You are talking to someone who failed out of college for absolutely no reason other just never doing the work, after all...

I never did the work either, although this year was mainly due not to showing up because of crippling anxiety/paranoia, more so than not doing the work.
I looked back to when I was in year 8, and I was among the highest achieving maths and science students in the entire school and now, I have almost no interest in those areas anymore, and honestly much prefer the humanities and music to maths/science.

Has anyone else heard of The Paper Chase? I got them through a random mention in the dissonance thread from a long time ago, and after I fell in love with We Know Where You Sleep on their website, I got one of their CDs free from my college radio station (they didn't appreciate it!LOL). I was putting them on  the other morning and I'd forgotten how awesome they are. They're like dissonant indie alt-rock with a cello and a violently insane singer, but I can't tell how much of it is tongue in cheek, since AMG seems to think almost all of it is, but I am less inclined to agree.
In the booklet, the logos are a separate transparent page, so you can see his ass once you turn that page. Quite a cover.LOL

Oh awesome, they finished a concept double album! But they're releasing them separately. :( I should make a thread about them.

Well I heard about the Paper Chase in this thread, which is now so old that it was locked, and I made a dissonance thread, but it only got 13 replies because nobody likes me, obviously. Maybe I needed to make it in the Prog Lounge, but I was looking for non-prog music.

They're not free jazz, by the way. At least not by any definition  I've heard. Free noise, maybe. ;-)

I still enjoy them though.

And no, they're not free jazz.

Did I presume from your comment, HP that you liked Kletka Red or did you really not like them?  It's difficult to know sometimes.

Oh yeah, I know, I'm not always very clear, especially when I deliberately joke so much (sometimes accidentally).

No, I didn't like Kletka Red or that other album very much, but I'll give it another shot later. Sometimes it's something you just have to be in the right mood.

I also like AMM, although they are a bit too minimalist at times.

Oh hell yes, someone uploaded the MP3 of We Know Where You Sleep Although Said the Spider to the Fly is also very awesome and has the benefit of having a schitzo video.

That is indeed true in many cases.

I'm in a weird mood today - I really don't feel like listening to music at all.

I know that feeling, Patrick.

I'm feeling a bit better today... but still not that fantastic.
