I wish I could coexist peacefully with cockroaches. And by "coexist peacefully" I mean "never have to see them in my house crawling on sh*t."

yeah I didn't even realize he played with KC until everyone said he's most known for that in those threads... he's involved with a whole bunch of great British jazz albums from those times and Dedicated to You is awesome if a bit inconsistent sadly

actually I just relistened to Dedicated To You...and found it better than I remember. His first KT Group album (You Are There...I Am Here) is the one I find a bit inconstant. Still worth it though.

I also really like the two albums Mercy Dash and Cruel But Fair with Hopper, Dean, and Joe Gallivan.
just listened to YAT...IAH and I don't think it's that inconsistent, more it's just overall less exciting and fluid
I'll check out those other two eventually

I suppose that's what I mean by inconsistent...there are more lows overall, whereas with Dedicated...all of it is at a pretty constant level for my ears.

well yeah, I mean Dedicated has pieces that are as boring as anything on You Are There next to pieces that are much better imo
also, in a similar vein, have I recommended any of Howard Riley's albums to you yet?

I would disagree with that first sentence. Tongue idk...on my recent relisten I found it more exciting and engaging than I have in the past. Perhaps I was just clouded with the emotion of his recently passing.

And negative. Please do.

ah well I've been loving Howard Riley Trio's first three albums, some really fine prog-related jazz that sometimes edges on a kind of deconstruction of ragtime piano jazz, I'm sure you'll like 'em (though the production on the first one is a bit flimsy so don't start with that)
