Cool! We're done over here as well, now my wife is about to enter a baking frenzy (as she does every year).

Mmm, so what's cooking? (or what will be?)
I'm pretty pleased with myself cuz I found a gift for my nephew that my control freak (about gifts for her kids) sister-in-law is NOT going to like, but that he will love.

So you're the cool aunt, eh? Christmas cookies of all varieties, she bakes an absolute boatload and gives them away to friends, co-workers, etc. I do manage to get a fair amount for myself as well.

Hum, that's not a bad idea. I've been meaning to give a little something to the super and his wife (he's like the ultimate super). I make a mean oatmeal and raisins recipe, but not everybody likes raisins...
Maybe I should just get him some wine.

Are you sure he's a wine drinker? The cookies might be "safer". You can still get the wine and send it my way.

I love wine too. But there being inly two of us, we (well, me) usually end up drinking too much and I think there's nothing worst than a wine hangover...
What areas do you like?

One of my favorites is Willamette Valley in Oregon. But I enjoy most Northwest Pac stuff, including the obvious California regions. Also love most Italian wines.

I don't know much Californian wines. They haven't been that popular here for that many years, I think, and France, and to some extent Italy, used to dominate most of the market until very recently.
I'm a sucker for Le Château Des Charmes's Equuleus from the Niagara Falls peninsula.
Italian wines I love too. Can never go wrong with a Chianti.

I'm doing well, feeling very relaxed. Listening to Porcupine Tree. How about you?

Very good. One day of work left!
And tomorrow's going to be pretty easy: communal breakfast to start the day, then some caroling with the kids, then field trip (were going to see the Nutcracker).
Then drive home. Then beer! (would have been gloegg, but I was too lazy to make it this year)
You finished all your exams, right?

That sounds great. Yes, I finished my last exam yesterday. It still hasn't quite sunk in yet, I keep thinking it's just another Thursday (since I scheduled no classes on Thursdays for this past semester).

Does your biological clock screw with you and makes you get up at the same time as you normally would when you have school during your vacation?

Sometimes. This past semester I scheduled all of my classes on Monday/Wednesday/Friday and my 1 credit hour class on Tuesday, so it felt pretty weird. It's not near like high school where I had to get up at really early every morning. It hasn't really been screwing with me much though. I suppose that's a good thing.

Haha, I love transitioning from one artist to the next when they sound hardly anything alike.

For example, Meshuggah (possibly the most technical, mechanical, extreme hardcore metal I've ever heard) contrasts quite well after I listen to something like Yes or ELO.

I find it funny when I run into people at college, or ones who knew me at high school, or wherever, and they think that because 99% of the music I listen to can somehow be labeled as "progressive", it means they all sound similar.
That always gives me a good laugh.
