Thought I'd drop in and say 'howdy'. Just bouncing around the PA and wanted to give a shout out to my homies.

I see Antoine is still posting to the 'what are you listening to' thread. That guy is a friggin' music machine!!! I'm not worthy!! I'm not worthy!!

Hi E,  Nice of you to drop by.  You're not kidding about Antoine.  And every once in a while he actually posts an album that I have heard before.

Ooh, it's mercifully quiet in here today.

James, feel smug [Approve]: I'm listening to Henry Cow. Ermm *opens mind, ears, &c.*

(I don't think Patrick does smugness, but perhaps he would like to feel a warm glow [Embarrassed]?)

The mostly instrumental "Ersatz", their second release, is much more symphonic in comparison and a definite improvement. Its 70's prog style features richly complex compositions that transport the listener through a colourful landscape of great keyboards punctuated by dark, CRIMSONesque atmospheres.

Wonderful, Melissa, and I'm sure you'll be equally tickled that I'm listening to Wurdah Itah.

Sounds interesting.  I just gave Queen Wilson a listen on their PA page.  It is from their first album, not Ersatz, but it was very good.

I've just been renewed with this months eMusic downloads, so I will probably take your advice and download this this weekend.  Thanks.

Ok changing the subject, maybe Scott or one of you could help me out...Embarrassed

after 3.5 years on this site, I still don't know how to add an album, for an existing band...Unhappy

I have no problem filling out the details, and pasting a jpeg thingumy in the box at the bottom, but when I hit send/post/submit or whatever...nothing EVER happens.  the page always freezes, yet I can click back into the forums without a problem...Confused

so, what is going wrong for me??

I don't know.  By pasting a jpeg do you mean that you click and drag one into the box?  I usually save the picture to my desktop, and then click on the browse button and select the jpeg file that way.  I have no idea if this would make a difference or not, but it sounds like I might do this a little bit differently than you do.  Once it is installed on PA, I delete the jpeg file from my desktop.

If you are getting the picture from an internet source, you can click on the picture with your right mouse button.  It will give you the option to "save picture as" at which time you can save it to your desktop (or anywhere else on your computer at that matter, I just find it easiest to find by saving it to my desktop).

Nice to see you're awake, Melissa! Wink

It's also jolly nice of you to being using "&c." rather than "etc.". Wink

So, did Henry Cow work better for you this time?  Which album of theirs did you attune your ears to?

I know you quite like Dagmar Krause, so I presume it was one with her on?

One thing Henry Cow are not though, are: pretentious

Wipe that thought from your mind and try again. WinkTongue

Oh, I was just giving 'Leg End' another audition, that's all.  It was ok - didn't make much impression on me either way!  I keep wondering what the fuss is about here Embarrassed - or am I going to be sledgehammered by a massive dose of slow-release AWESOMENESS at a later date?!

Aaargh, I dunno. LOL Wink .....&c. &c. &c.....

I'm so tired I think I'm going to go to sleep now, before you can start conversing with me about grammar and 'rate these bands in order of obscurity'... Stern%20Smile Wacko Sleepy

If I'm still alive tomorrow maybe I'll spin 'Unrest', just for the sake of fairness...

You shall enjoy Henry Cow and you shall come to love them more than Magma.  You shall!

Try Western Culture as well.

You're seriously missing their awesomeness!  I'll get Patrick on the case, I shall! Wink

Yep, best sleep.  I won't keep you up 'til 2 a.m. tonight.

It wasn't 3 a.m.  It was after 2 a.m. though.

And we weren't doing anything out of the ordinary!
