But plancton is too general. You should look for something more specific.

Plankton too specific? From there it goes to zooplankton and phytoplankton. I even searched the individual types of plankton from those two categories and nothing.

It's not a type of plankton.
 
It's type of another (relatively) general term (like plancton is) instead.
