They did start out as sort of a German Kyuss, but quickly started getting more ambitious on Periscope. It's not until their S/T that CH really hit their stride, though, it's got a 20-minute epic that actually works.

HENDRIX - "Axis: Bold as Love" (1968)

On vinyl, original mono mix - first listen to this mix.  Ol' Dad gave me this for Xmas.

Nice!! Saw that in the store, not sure if it was the mono mix though. What is the UPC# on yours?

I still haven't absorbed this Colour Haze album yet. First, because it's much longer than the others I've heard being a double album in LP format. Second, because it adds a lot of folk influences that hadn't been part of the band's sound before resulting in a much more diverse soundscape. There's much more to absorb.

It might replace Tempel as my favourite, though, a few more listens might tell.

It's a 2013 pressing on Experience Hendrix/Legacy, UPC # 887654197115.  It's lovely. Big smile
It also says "Mono" on the upper left hand corner of the front cover.
