Why are The Mars Volta so awesome?
Expect them to be less awesome on their next album.
?
Cedric or Omar said something about all of the progressive nuances not being present on their next album, and will be entirely "future punk". So it will basically be At The Drive In, probably. I love that band, but they weren't as good as the Mars Volta are now, so I think the new album might be disappointing. I hope I'm wrong.

They've moved far beyond the ATDI punk sound... I personally believe it won't sound anything like that sort of punk.
Have you listened to the new songs on Youtube, Alan?
I had absolutely no idea they had new songs available. I must find these.
Well, technically, the songs were performed by the ORL Group, but everyone's pretty sure that, because Cedric showed up at the shows by surprise, that they're actually TMV songs. They've done it in the past.

Well, TMV have always been great and unique, so I'm sure I'll be surprised by the quality of their new album when it is released. I'm currently itching for some new Meshuggah, but I don't think there is any word on the subject.
