Those are all great songs. 3 of them are some of my favorites from TMV; I bet you can guess which one I like but not as much as the rest.

That is a personal favorite of mine, may be my 2nd favorite TMV track. Big smile

You don't care as much for "The Widow?"  Really?  Man...hear out the lyrics...they're some of the most poignant lyrics Bixler-Zavala ever wrote...I think about losing my spouse of five years and being a lonely old man when I hear them.

Holy crap.  Why have I not paid more attention to this one?  The melody is amazing.

I do like it, but it doesn't strike as much of a chord with me. I thought the sound they found on Bedlam was absolutely perfect, despite how amazing Amp and De-Loused were (and to a lesser extent Frances, although very good). Unless I'm in the mood for that and the ending noise part of it, I don't enjoy it as much generally. I could listen to Bedlam anytime.

*air drums to it*

You inspired me to put Bedlam in just for that song. Wink

I just
soak in the lyrics- they're some of the most sensible and touching one's he ever wrote.

Aside from that, it's easy to play! Smile

It's just a straight forward metal band.

I wish people would just kinda, actually suggest bands that aren't straight forward metal to the PMTLOL
Fortunately, most of the suggestions we get are actual prog metal bands anyway.

I'm listening to the rest of the album just because of that song.  I'm not as impressed so far, though (I actually didn't care as much for "Goliath" as I thought I would after reading some reviews), but I'm willing to hear everything again.  If anything, "Ilyena" made the album worth buying.

Haha, yeah. I guess you can't completely avoid suggestions like that.

I haven't made them yet- they're next on the list though.  I finished 3 albums from Genesis, one from The Mars Volta, and a crap load of gold cards, among some other things.

How many times have you heard it? I remember exactly what I thought of certain songs and the album as a whole after so many listens. I didn't start to "get" some songs until about 5-8 listens of the entire album. About that 7th or 8th listen though is when I really started to love each track and my appreciation for Bedlam has grown exponentially since then. It's easily one of my favorite albums ever.

"Cavalletas" has a good groove.  It's not my favorite because they ruin the song with too many goofy sound effects, but it's all right.

Sounds good to me. I may need to get reviewing.
