Indeed.

I haven't listened to Gabriel in a while now though.

Sounds good.

I had this:

It's kind of like the fancy version of regular ramen noodles.  It has vegetables in it, and cooks in 4 minutes.  I only have one of these left and about 20-25 regular packages of ramen.  Gotta love college life. LOL

I've actually had this album for some time now, but I never got much further than that great songs (the one that's completely ruined by Kate Bush, sorry Kate Bush fans), so I never noticed that Mercy Street was on it, and it's really quite a new love for me.

Don't Give Up is one of the best songs on that album. Wink

It is very good though.  I'm probably not as into solo Gabriel as I should be (I love Genesis), but Peter Gabriel III/Melt and So are both great.  The others I have (1,4,up, us), never really did much for me.

Finally! Someone who agrees with me there! Hug

I nearly always skip that track, but I love some of the others.

Normal ramen looks like this:

That's more symbolic than the instant stuff I posted before.  Ramen takes a while to cook on the oven, but it's so cheap and rewarding, it is worth it.  As good at it is, I can't eat more than one package in two days (sometimes I eat one a day, but that's rare).

The block of noodles + hot water + adding the small package of flavor at the end = ramen delight. ;)

It's really the only album of his I have actually. Used to think he and Genesis were both awful up until about a year ago. I kinda like that duet he did with Sinead O'Connor, actually Confused

Did you only get into prog a year ago then?  That seems the most logical explanation.

When I was in my "classic rock" phase (which a lot of people I know never grew out of, sadly), I downloaded Selling England by the Pound.  I listened to parts of it, and thought it was silly and boring.  Fast forward about 6 months, after being into Rush, Yes, Pink Floyd, The Doors, etc. and discovering how PA considered it a top 3 album, I decided to listen again, and it hit me.  It still took a few listens after that to convert me to Genesis, but that might have been my "defining" prog moment.

As time progresses, and I get into more and more different genres, my focus on prog grows less and less.  There haven't been many prog bands I grew out of, except some prog metal and neo-prog, but there have been so many other genres I've been exposed to.  A fair trade, I'd say.

Yeah, they were my favorite band during a good percentage of 10th grade.  I don't even remember what my music taste was like then exactly, and how my taste evolved over the years.  Eventually, I should try to write down this stuff before I forget it even more. LOL

That's interesting. Rush is still up there for me, but I used to like Genesis much more than I do now. I still like them now though.

No, I haven't been into prog for that long. And I didn't get interested via Genesis (or Rush for that matter, as hard as I tried, I just can't get passed Geddy Lee's vocals), but via Queen and Jethro Tull (both of which I've known for years). I'm mainly into prog folk and RPI.

The Doors are prog??? Confused

edit: and heck, I'm not getting out of my Classic Rock phase even if I do like prog now. CREAM ROCKS!!! Big smile
