Hmm...Maybe, I never made the connection. I'll have to keep that in mind when I listen to either band next.  I do think that Time of Orchids sound similar to Kayo Dot though.

Yeah, I've definitely noticed the Kayo Dot similarities.
I've only heard one album from Cardiacs/Time Of Orchids, though.

Same here. I've not been impressed enough by either band to delve any deeper.

I don't think he's back up to speed, no.  Kavus has apparently concerned that Cardiacs will never again tour either way. Cry

I've only listened to Time Of Orchids's Namesake Caution about 3 times since I got it, not sure why. Hasn't blown me away so far yet. Sing To God isn't sounding quite like I was hoping, or as good, so far.

From what I last read, I think he's mentally fully recovered, but physically still not there yet.  They haven't ruled out the possibility of new studio material though, so we can be hopeful.

I was complaining it was cold yesterday.  Now it's too warm.  Maybe the heating has been fixed... but the radiator isn't on.  Hmm.

I recall hearing something about Tim Smith's condition, but I don't remember what sort of accident he was involved in.  Can someone elaborate?

Yep. Namesake caution is pretty solid, just not super great and I flat out can't stand the Cardiacs vocals tbqh.
