True British space doom.

One classic album I haven't heard until now. Kind of a middle ground between the more symphonic style King Crimson played earlier and the heavy guitar-based more austere instrumentation of the following two albums. Curious how the classical influences here are overwhelmingly Eastern European instead of Western, the result being a rather off-kilter melodic sensibility and unusual narrative structures.

So how many of the classic albums to come out of the early-1970s prog rock scene in the UK have been this ahead-of-their-time? Not only does Robert Fripp invent the overtly abstract way of approaching complex heavy guitar playing a decade before any metal guitarists would pick up on it, but the slow-burn tension-and-release composition structure that's now synonymous with post-rock seems to come wholesale from this KC era.
