It's better to play Baldur's Gate before Baldur's Gate 2.  It helps you get into the story better and you start off at level 1.

I've not played Fallout 3 but it doesn't look like my thing... as you say, it's Oblivion in a different setting (although the gameplay looks better than Oblivion).

Damn you Australian eBay!

Only one copy of the original, and about 30 of the PS2/Xbox game, Dark Alliance, which I played and really disliked.

Oh gosh, I've not played the PS2 BGs.  I fear I also won't like them.

Hmmm, if you can find it, get the DVD version with the expansions.

Nope - Gameplay is worse, graphics aren't as good, more repetitive, less engaging, far shorter story line, smaller map, less weapons, less sidequests, no guilds/groups, 30 level cap...

And its Magnum Opus of crappiness:
After you finish the main story line, you can't play on.

I could go on about it's crappiness...

I've only seen my mate playing Fallout 3.  I think I'll likely enjoy Mass Effect more to be fair.

Actually, I should add Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic to my favourite RPG's list (probably number one, come to think of it)

Have you played that?

Not played KoToR or KoToR 2 (I gather it's unfinished or something?).

But they're the same game engine as Neverwinter Nights, I believe.

Well PS2s aren't exactly catered for DnD rules as such.  They'll always end up a bit hack 'n' slash on a console.

I've seen my mate play Dark Alliance (about 2 or 3 years ago).  I'll stick with the PC games. Big smile

^Possibly... Number 1 came out on Xbox and PC, so did number 2. Love both, but number one is far better...

They're releasing an MMO KOTO for Xbox 360, but I'll probably give that one a miss, as I don't have (and don't plan to get) a 360.

I'm not really that much into the Star Wars Franchise, mind you but I may enjoy it... I did enjoy the original X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter game all those years back.
