After watching some of the debate, I felt I needed to chime in on this thread. Being mostly a red wine drinker, I prefer Pinot Noir but do enjoy the other reds as well, espicially from the South of France and Italy. I have noticed in some of the stores (US), that a few bottles are beginning to put "sweet" into the label, not many though. Here in the Carolinas, there is a native grape, Muscadine, which has a rough and tough skin but the meat of the grape is very sweet. There are many Muscadine wineries here, as it has sort of replaced the cotton fields, and they produce a sweet wine, but still has the bite of some of the dry ones (usually around 12% alcohol). The most well known around here is Duplin Winery. My vote is for dry red since that is closest category for my choice. |

As a rule I don't drink, because of acid reflux and the fact the alcohol tastes like sh*t, but on the rare occassion I have something it's schnapps. Cinnamon and mints are about the only flavors not completely ruined by alcohol.

I have expensive tastes so voted Single Malt Whisky
My usual buy is the basic Macallan as that is all I can afford. Will treat myself to a better bottle for special occassions such as birthday & xmas. |
