I somehow have two.
My chat is usually switched off and I rarely look at my Events. Luckily most people don't want to converse with me, so it's all good.
However, it's a useful tool as many of my friends don't have credit on their 'phone or I don't have their number.

I know! Its bad enough no one ever actually talks on phones, forced me to get unlimited texting so I had to use it so much. Now that's useless! Phones are becoming obsolete I have so much contact with people through FB. Oh, and now Im gunna flood your wall James and leave you stalker box message constantly

The Facebook idea is brilliant. Old people in Scotland can communicate with their grand children in Australia, across the street or in Canada. Old class mates can gloat over their old bullies long term jail terms, most preferable; sodomy involving farm-animals (hi Nicklas, only two years left now !!) or friends keeping in touch. That idea is brilliant. What I don't like is these mafia wars applications and spam things. But you can turn those off in the security settings. I have never included any personal informations in my profile. Stuff like birthday, employer, address etc etc should never be included in a Facebook profile. Ditto for sex videos and other personal pictures which may come back as a theme during a job interview or an election campaign for a higher office. But the Facebook idea is brilliant. It is a pity that all the nonsense has overshadowed the brilliant idea. Mostly for silver surfers, it has to be said.

Great post! :) I have one. It's useful, I get event invitations, get updates from family and friends, although I've probably hidden more than half of the people I've accepted as friends, so it's pretty sparse now. I do follow a number of bands, and it's nice to get updates from them. But, for the most part, I visit facebook to play chess against a high school buddy (that has been the one activity on facebook I do the most for the past 3 years). Oh, my home company has a facebook page as well. I actually update status' there. |
Two great posts
Through FB, I keep in touch with friends in Australia, Newfoundland, Canada & if they're on the same time as me, we'll have a bit of a chat; I hate the Mafia Wars stuff, but I do play poker & bejewelled (and have to admit I do have a smallholding on Farmville, too ) - great idea as has been said, but keep some of the personal stuff personal... one of my friends is my 21 year old neice & some of her photos... I'm sure my sister hasn't seen any of those

I have two for a reason. One for friends, one for family. I mostly use the friends one. As far as I know, my family don't know about the other one. Even then, this is only cousins and 2nd cousins.

I want to start a fan page for James so he could technically have three.
But yes I have one, that bug infected me quite some time ago.

Nah, I think I'd rather be hit in the face with a heavy book.

Also I get to be allowed to fight back with a really spikey hard cover book, which can be smaller than that big heavy interesting paperback book, but it must be a really dull book. All we have to work out now is the titles.

Slartibartfast has to stand with his arms to the side and his eyes closed and Snow Dog gets one overhand throw from 5 feet away. No do-overs
