Another Non Prog or Classic Rock especially for all the Canadians is
The Guess Who - Live at the Paramount.
Still very listenable and a great piece of live Classic Rock ![](smileys/smiley4.gif)

1) The Great Deceiver (King Crimson)
2) All That Glitters is a Mare's Nest (Cardiacs)
3) Playing the Fool (Gentle Giant)
For my money, the Great Deceiver set by King Crimson is the Dogs'. In choosing this, I bear in mind that over 50% of the material is improvised, therefore brand new to the ear. Much is startlingly scary and HEAVY, parts are achingly beautiful. The Cardiacs set is perhaps the best record of they're Golden years and offers glimpses into the Cardiacs mythology and raison d'etre as well as providing ample proof of their individual musicianship and 'tightness' as an outfit. I have yet to purchase some of the newly released Giant sets from their website, so for now Playin the Fool is my choice for showing this band teaching the world what prog rock is all about and setting mountainous standards.
Sadly my WORST would have to be several bootlegs by Pink Floyd - yes, Pompeii showed that at they're best they could be awesome live, but I've got plenty of proof that on a bad day they were excrutiating. Sorry - they are one of my top bands, honest!

The one album that really blew my mind off is......... Porcupine tree´s Coma Divine.............
Its so well played that its scary. I also love it cause the band´s live sound is more heavy and powerful. They do not play the songs just like the albums, they always have a litle surprise for the audience.....I appreciate that too.
well..............thats my fav live album!!

Allan Holdsworth's All Night Wrong is one of the best sonically pure live recordings I've heard, not to mention the stripped down versions of many Holdsworth tunes. All the tripped out fluid legato leads smack you right in the face and really show the masters incredible facility. Any guitar nut would be advised to get All Night Wrong. I'll offer Then! as slightly secondary, but still an A#1 live testament to Holdsworth's brilliance.
A Gathering of the Minds, a live boot recording that features Jack Bruce, Billy Cobham, Didier Lockerbee (??) David Sancious and Allan Holdsworth is a seriously wonderful experience.
I'm currently enthralled with the live Sylvian/Fripp recording, Damage. Fripp sounds hip on this disc and David Sylvian's voice is top notch.
