It's a pitty, this kind of threads are the perfect excuse to research for bands that are forgotten, I believed this is the reason why we are here, to search for the most bands that are inour database.

Maybe this thread is not really for that purpose, it can be a nice side effect though. If the band is too unknown the show stops. And that's really not the point.

ABBHAMA
Isn't he a Democratic candidate for U.S. president.
Queen made 4.5 beautiful albums, then developed 80's-itis like several other bands who I will not mention here. I will close with an open note to Brian May.
Dear Brian,
Putting Paul Rodgers in the position formerly filled by the immortal Freddie Mercury is like letting your dog pinch a loaf into some alluminum foil, wrapping it up and calling it a Hershey bar. Sure somebody might be stupid enough to buy it and eat it, but they will feel cheated and dirty pretty quickly.
Love,
Tapfret
Ok, new band. Well, one mans obscure is another mans obvious.
How about....Cairo?

Never heard of them ... but checked out their PA listing!
Found out Cairo are influenced by ELP, Yes, Kansas & Styx. I have listened to the mp3 track 'Corridors' from the 1998 album "Conflict And Dreams" ... an enjoyable listen without being anything outstanding. It may be worth seeking out some more of this band's work.

Haven't heard Mythos... But aboput Cairo, I had their first CD... I love a song called "Silent Winter"... their music is not the most original ever but it's good, some ELP, some Kansas... the singer Breett Douglas appears in two Trent Gardner side-projects: Explorer's Club 1 and Leonardo...
As I didn't say anything about this unknown band, I'll p[ost it again for somebody who knows,

Atomic Rooster - Vincent Crane on keys ... brilliant! I am surprised there is only one streaming file available here in PA from Atomic Rooster's first five albums ... I may just have to do something about that

Druid - poor ole chaps, always taking beans for sounding like Yes....well I don't think they were so bad, at least pleasant to listen to.

Area 51, this prolific band's world-renowned 51st album, was not (as many wrongfully assume) named for the supposed US airforce top-secret UFO research facility -- but it does reportedly feature an uncredited alien on pecussion and backing vocals. ![Shocked](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley3.gif)

Steve Unruh????
Man, what are you people doing, looking in the Prog-core: dictionary of prog-underground-obscure-neverheardof-bands to find the bands you're talking about? ![Shocked](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley3.gif) ![Shocked](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley3.gif)

![Embarrassed](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gif) Sorry -- I've actually got a few of his albums (PA's uber fine-music fan Danbo got me into him).
I'll take it: Steve Unruh is a very talented multi-instrumentalist with a hard-edged, almost metallic guitar sound, strong political convictions, and an impressive lyrical vocabulary. His CD Out of the Ashes is especially worthwhile! ![Cool](smileys/smiley16.gif)
I thought I'd make up for my earlier too-easy Beatles post, but here, i'll go with something more in-between those two extremes:
NEKTAR
Good game, BTW!![Thumbs%20Up](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley20.gif)

Nektar: interesting late psychadelic band with hard rock and progressive tendencies...excellent songwriters known for conceptual albums, like the onw in Peter's avie (maybe their best album....definately the best cover).
This one is dedicated to The T because he likes the obsucre ones ![LOL](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif)
