ADD? I never had real ADD. I tend to blame that on my personality's numbness. Sometimes I just don't want to listen to anyone and dive in my private world.

Good musical technique too. I can't imagine a single moment when any kind of music or hum doesn't go through my head. Sometimes, I can get lost in music, I forgot about anything else. LOL

I don't hink I have it either, but it's a convient excuse. It's the youth equivalent of "women's problems"LOL

First serious iscussion. Do we have it easier now than older members had it when they were kids. I say overall no. Technology makes things faster, but there is WAY more pressure on us for academic, athletic, financial, etc. success and teen suiceds are much higher than they were only a few decades ago.

Posting here is just one of many symbols of your fading existence. As the GR attempted to answer questions plaguing the nearly dead, so shall we focus on the issues of youth. Can life get any better? How great is it

I'm sorry, but you've outgrown the anxiety and depression of youth and you've reached the much more crushing depression of the real world. Perhaps if you display a youthful edge, you can stay, since Papa Jody is here based on his love of Star Wars (and his threats to lock us) LOL

agreed completely. and isn't it ironic how parents often ramble about 'kids these days get everything easily, etc. blah blah and so on...'

i'd say that live now is far more pressured(thus harder) than our old man times

I agree with you, kids nowadays have way more pressure on them than my generation did.

But they also expect instant gratification, get bored with things very easily, and expect high pay for little or no work(well,my kids do anyway).

^ That's why I think there is no definitive answer, because much of the pressure comes from a heightened sense of selfishness and entitlement that leaves a kid unwilling to deal with problems.

I believe it is a plaec for people to act like rock stars. For example, someone will "pen" a concept album and allow no input from anyone else or quit due to a drinking problem only to rejoin a day later. It's a little silly.

isn't it something natural ? it's got nothing to with the development of technology or anything, right ?

No. technology has made it so we can get info anywhere in the world in seconds. We no longer have to wait for everything, so we can't wait for anything.

And Jody, as a teenager who makes 5 cents over minimum wage for doing more work than his manager, I can't complain with that!
