I don't understand you. I think you have to resize every time before you try to stretch out an emoticon.

You change the size to the highest and then click on the emoticon you want straight after. That's how I did it.

I'm in size 6!

I've been here ..what.. nearly a year and a half and have never figured out how to have enlarged emoticons. Then again... considering how  addicted  I am to them.. maybe that's not such a bad thing

I also liked the purple and I've tried the method of enlarging emoticons and it doesn't work for me.

Is it possible to have different skins available for us to choose?  Now I'd really like that feature.
