Came here because I was linked to a Tool thread on here and decided to stay to listen to the samples and get to know new bands (I didn't really know much exept Tool ) and chat with people about music or random stuff to kill time.

Surprised at the distinct lack of "I came here to make a band" votes. I guess everyone's already in one...

Got here to learn more about prog. I cannot by any means remember which band brought me here, but it could well have been DT; that was some months ago; for now I can only say that I did not come here to vote for them . After that I just kept following the forums and reading about other bands for some time before registering.

Here's something a bit sad.
When I'm in CD shops these days, my decision on whether or not to buy something is often based on whether I will be able to review it on this site.

you've definitely got it bad, Bob!
this is an amazing web site - every day you never know what you're going to find!
my other addiction is Ebay for the same reason!

In early spring of this year I discovered that I enjoyed progressive rock, so to guide my exporation of this stange (to me at the time) 'new' music, I did a google search for progressive rock and here I am. The exploration continues much to the dismay of my wallet

Combination of first and second option. The second was stronger.

Personally, I come to the Forum to meet new and interesting people from around the world from differing cultural backgrounds & age groups, all divided by a common interest...
...and argue with them.
