What's the f**king point? I mean, that leads to nothing, nothing!

Far too often the same pointless threads: I don't like this, I don't like that

Genesis and Yes are two of my favourite prog bands. If that makes me predictable then I can live with that!

I've not much time for ELP though, with the exception of a few songs here and there.

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

phil collins =

yes and genesis are of among the few progressive bands i really dont like that much.

What the hell are you talking about ? Do you have any idea whatsoever of what you are talking about, or do you think the Genesis of the 80's is the only Genesis there was ?

The rest of the guys could hardly make up for his suckiness? IN WHAT? He is a really great vocalist and an amazing drummer.

Agree... better drummer than vocalist I would say... prefer Gabriel all the way... and I believe that with "sickiness" he is referring to his popish musical direction...

If what you've heard is "Love Beach", " Calling all stations" and "Open your eyes", I understand you........

I like Tormato, so shoot me! Every person in the world can't think the same.

Do you really dislike all tracks/albums by Yes,ELP and Genesis? If you are a prog fan then I find that hard to believe actually.Sorry.

I think the above point is valid , it's easy to generalise about a band or bands but I'm sure there must be some tracks by those 3 bands (Genesis,ELP & Yes) you may like. You just haven't heard them yet.
I heard some Glass Hammer for the first time tonight and I must confess I'm in no rush to hear them again  But that said some people who's opinion I respect seem to like them,so maybe I haven't heard the right stuff I'll give them another chance (one day not too soon)

no no. i like some of their tracks, and i dont hate those three bands. i wouldn't buy any of their albums and  i dont like their albums as a whole ( too much bad tracks) like from gabriel era there are at least couple of tracks on each album that i like

I think understand what you're saying. I like those
bands but I have to be in the right mood to listen to it.
I've been listening to "Supper's Ready" almost non
stop lately but this is after not hearing it for a few
years. It's been a while since I've listened to a whole
Yes album. I haven't listened to much ELP for a
while. Sometimes it's just too much self indulgence
and portentiousness. Sometimes self indulgence
and portentiousness is exactly what I want to listen
to.

I like ELP, Yes & Genesis! I'm sure I'm not the only one here! However, I do not like VDGG very much!

These days, I have a bad VDGG's obsession: I have been in trauma while listening to the corrosive Pawn Hearts and now i'm trying to cure myself! Hammill's voice haunts me and it does not want to get out! His Judas Priest's Rob Halford's imitations on Man-Erg made me fall down my chair:

HOW CAN I BE FREEEEEEEEEEEEE? HOW CAN I GET HEEEELLLLLLPPPPP?

AM I REALLY MMMEEEEEEEEEEEE? AM I SOMEONE EEEEEEELSE?

H to HE, Who Am I The Only One!

I like Genesis a lot, yes a little less, and have not heard much of ELP... or of many other bands you proggers list here and there constantly... I like Floyd, does that count? and I did like the little I've heard of Dream Theatre. Maybe you just have to give it time until they settle... maybe you'll never like them! so what! there are many more prog bands you can like without having to listen to Genesis, Yes and ELP... though they are huge...
