I have a sensitive spot for that album, it's so moving
"And so as I patrol in the valley of the shadow of the tricolour I must fear evil for I am but mortal and mortals can only die."

My intro to prog was Genesis' Nursery Cryme. My sister borrowed it from someone and I sneaked a listen while she was out. I didn't know what to make of it at first - bizarre songs about people getting their heads knocked off with mallets, man-eating plants, people cutting their toes off - but I quite liked it. Then Genesis Live came out and, if I remember correctly it was only £1.99 at the time, so I bought that and that was it. I was very confused by the story on the back, but I was only 12 or 13 at the time.
