I am not familiar with very many Japanese prog bands. This will be a fun trip.

I'm glad you'll enjoy it, and I don't think I've seen you around here before, so my welcome to you at PA forums. Smile

I only know of The Square (later shortened to T-Square). Prog/jazz combination, maybe a bit like Cassiopia (might be misspelled).

Honestly same, but I really wanna get more into that scene as what I have heard is really good. Koenjihyakkei is one of my favorite zeuhl bands, their album of Nivraym is really great. I also really enjoy Hiro Yanagida's Milk Time, good stuff.

I played LITE - Phantasia the other day and very enjoyable it was too. I'll certainly be trying some of their other albums

Olive (self-titled) 1976. This album is hard prog with a female soprano vocalist. I see there is an old closed post on this band from 2010, but they were never added to the archive. Sadly, the music is not on any of the streaming platforms. This band is ripe for some label to reissue, remaster and get this gem out there. A true banger.

Recently i discovered a wild 80s Canterbury Scene band called STUBBS

Two totally obscure albums that are creatively diverse and at times heavy rock

(function(){function c(){var b=a.contentDocument||a.contentWindow.document;if(b){var d=b.createElement('script');d.innerHTML="window.__CF$cv$params={r:'8a02ca608f6d5c1b',t:'MTcyMDQ3MDE5MC4wMDAwMDA='};var a=document.createElement('script');a.nonce='';a.src='/cdn-cgi/challenge-platform/scripts/jsd/main.js';document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(a);";b.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(d)}}if(document.body){var a=document.createElement('iframe');a.height=1;a.width=1;a.style.position='absolute';a.style.top=0;a.style.left=0;a.style.border='none';a.style.visibility='hidden';document.body.appendChild(a);if('loading'!==document.readyState)c();else if(window.addEventListener)document.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded',c);else{var e=document.onreadystatechange||function(){};document.onreadystatechange=function(b){e(b);'loading'!==document.readyState&&(document.onreadystatechange=e,c())}}}})();< style=": ; top: 0px; left: 0px; border: medium none; visibility: ;" width="1" height="1">

Shingetsu's first album was the first non-British prog album I bought, and the reason I got a Discogs account.
