It's not ridiculous when you consider that two of my favourite Yes albums were released in the 2010's. Not that I've heard many other albums from the last decade.

John Zorn.
Kinda cheating since it encompasses at least three different bands that have done seminal avant-prog work in the decade (Moonchild, Simulacrum, Insurrection) as well as multiple ‘solo’ works. But that’s how I roll. Edited by Mascodagama - December 17 2020 at 04:22 |

We aren't talking modern history, we are talking prog bands in the last 10 years.

I think that's the point - there are so many prog albums from the last 10 years that are better than the very mediocre Heaven & Earth. Fly From Here is good though!

^ The "If 5" comeback album from 2016 is very good, but only if you like Jazz.

Paul is allowed to have an opinion personally I do like the the Heaven and Earth album but got bored with Fly From Here very quickly. Both are probably 3 star albums in my book. 'Prog lite' although Paul is not one for prog metal or eclectic prog. Paul , check out some Lonely Robot or Mute Gods. Both excellent modern day projects that may suit your taste better, and also please stop winding up Cristi

I like 'Fly From Here' a lot, very enjoyable and reminiscent of 70s Yes, can't say the same for 'Heaven and Earth' but this doesn't matter at all. There are no wrong answers to this question, after all...

Lazuli or Sonar, and I cannot think of a third one that really deserves the label "top"...

Steven Wilson tops it easily.
Wobbler would’ve been a contender for the top spot if I’d discovered them sooner, but it’s still tough to beat SW. I didn’t love To The Bone, but all his other albums are good. Others: Opeth Riverside IQ Thank You Scientist Jordsjø Gazpacho The Pineapple Thief Soen Barock Projeckt I’ve mostly based this on what I’ve listened to the most. The list would have been different if I should list my favorite bands based on the albums released. Edited by Zeph - December 19 2020 at 12:59 |

I would say Porcupine Tree, but since their last release was 2009 and we are talking 2010-2019, they don't count.
*Rush would be up there with Clockwork Angels and their final tour, closing the doors on an institution of progressive rock music. *Riverside starting with Shrine Of New Generation Slaves. *I'd have to go with The Pineapple Thief as my favorite, starting with the excellent Someone Here Is Missing and finishing with Dissolution. If I'm not allowed to choose Yes, then my second choice would be Renaissance for "Symphony of Light" (2014) and "A Symphonic Journey" (2018).

So you swap one '69 band long past their best for another? You're having a laugh aren't you? |

How are Renaissance past their best when Symphony of Light and A Symphonic Journey are two of their finest albums?

So maybe I misunderstood the OP question......
OP listed IQ, so I take it that any artist as long as they released something in 2010-2019, which means Yes would qualify with 2 releases....so prog on with Yes, Paul! |

Thanks Catcher. That's the way I interpreted the question, and I think Jon Anderson deserves an honourable mention too for Survival & Other Stories (2011) and 1000 Hands: Chapter One (2019), even though he's not a band. And not forgetting Steve Hackett, who's released no less than five very good albums in a row between 2011 & 2019.

Well, I only looked at "bands" since that's what OP stated, had he stated "Prog artist", I would have gone with Steven Wilson.
