Listen to Turkish psych/prog; you won't regret: Baris Manco,Erkin Koray,Cem Karaca,Mogollar,3 Hürel,Selda,Edip Akbayram,Fikret Kizilok,Ersen (and Dadaslar) (but stick with the '70's, and 'early 80's!)

I realised that most members here are just kids!
now I'm feeling old
Wish I could go to a prog concert and feel younger like you, Ivan!!!!
(for those who are interested: my musical choices nowadays are revealed in my current signature! apart from them: King Crimson, Gong, Magma, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Caravan, and all similar and related bands/artists plus solo projects... not to mention my first faves: Deep Purple, and of course, YES!)

43, been into prog for 30 years now, from revolting teenage sod to slightly seedy middle aged git. I'm into a lot of newer stuff, but not so much neo prog or prog metal, although they have their place.

I'm 41. Started as a big Genesis fan. Bought Genesis
Live in 1976 when I was only 12. I was influenced by my elder
brother who went to the original Lamb Lies Down On Broadway concert in
74 (or 75). Listened to Yes, ELP, Camel. Later I started listening to
krautrock, electronic music, classical music. But Prog is not my only
cup of tea; in the ealy 80ties I also started to like Joy Division,
some punk music etc. I was able to combine my love for early Genesis,
the ultra solo's of Keith Emerson and the trance-like Tangerine Dream
music with Sex Pistols, Neil Young, reggae etc. My biggest favourite
was and still is Zappa.
Just recently I started looking for other prog music, using for example
this site. I 'discovered' Gentle Giant, the Canterbury scene, and found
a lot of other interesting music like The Flower Kings. I can still
enjoy both hardcore punk and ten-minute Zappa solo's, stravinsky and
Mahavisnu Orchestra, Some country and Bach.
In the end, there is only good music and bad music.
