Do you guys Pragmatic and El bothy really see a considerable change in style and sounds since "Larkīs" in KCīs discography?. They sure changed, but well, who doesnīt change in a period of 32 years. Those mild changes are nothing but the result of personal and individual changes on FRIPP and the other members in the band as persons, not exactly as musicians. Plus, if the music writen and played under the name of King Crimson were ever changing, youīd have to ask yourselves wether they changed due to their creativity or because their lineup was changing from one album to the next.

Yes.

King Crimson is one of the most diverse bands in history.

Why? It can't be put to words, you'll have to listen for yourself. Even if I wrote a book describing every riff, saxophone line, mellotron passage, every complex percussion pattern, etc... it would be pointless and an awful waste of both, my time, as well as yours. Because, in the end, you'll have to listen to their songs, and judge by what YOU hear.

For me, KC so far has been able to morph extremely well throughtout the years and with each subsequent release. And I'm talking about the music, lyrics, concepts and overall approach in general.

That's all I'm saying from my part.

It's a fantastic album. Honestly, I think Bruford's drumming is the highlight.

1300 minutes? Ah, if only!!

In all seriousness, I don't find Larks' Tongues Part One repetitive at all. I would call it hypnotic myself. The atmosphere holds me in a tight grip right to the very end and I find myself surrendering to it gladly...

I was made to love magic

For me, its their best. Out of some very, very good albums...shame it's the only one with Jamie Muir.

I'm not agree with all this excitement...I think KC reached their top with Lizard-Islands

Lizard is a good album, but Islands???????

...even better

Lizard and especially Islands are both underrated gems. From these two I prefer lizard, but islands is great too

Still remember the first time i heard it and how it blew my f**king head apart. but that doesent compare to the 8th time i heard it. and that pales in comparison to the last time i heard it. Brilliant, changed the way i look at music and album structure. but with KC it's almost pointless to compare as they released albums that are each their own microcosm. so i guess the reinvention vote!
an open mind and an honest heart brings out the best in everyone.

I voted 'Very Good' since it's not their best album IMO

The only KC albums I own are In The Court of the Crimson King, Red and this one, Larks Tongues in Aspic.

I love all three of them and I slighlty prefer their first album but this album really had an experimental, proggy feeling to it that really appeals to me.
