Ah okay. I'm hungover, had a bit too much fun last night, but otherwise I'm alright.

Hangovers are horrible. The sort of things you never get before you reach 23...

I started drinking when I was 16 and a half anyway, since I could buy alcohol because I grew a beard and the alcohol stores believed I was actually over 18 years old, so they just let me buy alcohol anyway So I've been getting hangovers since 16 years old anyway. I don't get drunk as much anymore, this was my first hangover in probably well over a month now anyway.

I was just suggesting that no matter how drunk I got before I was 23, I never felt hungover the next day.
Now I need a whole day to get over it.
Isn't it the same for everyone?

Well, it depends how bad the hangover is really. I've been awake for 2 hours now, and the hangover is nearly gone, whereas some days I've had hangovers for half the day. My hangovers are not as bad anymore because I don't drink as much as I used to. I don't think age, at least when you're still relatively young anyway, has much to do with it.

Actually, now that I think of it, you might be quite right. It might be the getting drunk on wine that gives me hangover. I didn't used to drink it.

Anything gives you a hangover really, wine, beer, whatever, it all depends on a combination of factors such as blood sugar levels, hydration levels and amount of sleep I find, that determines how bad a hangover will be. I was at least smart enough to drink a decent amount of water before going to bed today, so my hangover isn't as bad as could have been.

I thought I was straight for not doing drugs.
Good on you Dan then.
But I have some viking blood forcing me to enjoy some booze every now and then.

Straight edge is completely abstaining from all drugs (in some cases, medical stuff is still allowed) and promiscuous sex. I can't exactly say I've had a promiscuous sex binge really, I was never that popular with girls

I just don't see any pleasure in taking drugs, and I can't drink for another 3 years or so legally so I see no point for me. It's not worth it.

Speaking from a girl's perspective, promiscuous sex is highly overrated.

Well, the way I see it, it's like that one person of a particular sex that engages in promiscuous sexual activity is likely to do with with another person that also engages in promiscuous sex, so the chances of STDs getting around kinda puts me off doing the whole man slut thing, that and I'm still not great with social skills so I've only ever had about 4 relationships.

What was that Austin Powers line...?
Only sailors wear condoms?
As long as people are still having promiscuous sex with many anonymous partners without protection while at the same time experimenting with mind-expanding drugs in a consequence-free environment, I'll be sound as a pound!
Anyway, yeah, STDs, plus, for most girls, sex his highly emotionnal, so we always end up having our poor little hearts hurting anyway.

Yeah, that's definitely true (the emotional aspect). As for straight edge, I don't think I had vows to be one, but if I did, it certainly didn't last long

By definition, what is "straight edge"?
No drugs, no booze, no sex outside of the bonds of mariage? Or does it involve other field (such as sex inside those bonds... no pun intended )
