It took me reading it twice to understand it, I was wondering why they'd have a scene like that in a kids' movie. I assume they will butcher the book but morbid fascination will probably cause me to watch it.

Not surprising. I don't care for the movies very much at all, but I should try rereading the series sometime.

I thought they really started sucking at the third one. I guess it had to do with the change of director, perhaps, but I thought they were forgotten details that got on my nerves. Like Harry's regular clothes, who should be too big for him. And they often skipped the school uniforms too.

I know, apparently Hogwarts' changed their dress code. Also, all the drama in the last movie really annoyed me. I'm feeling tired, and "Fat Old Sun" is definitely not helping, it's so pastoral and relaxing.

I thought the plot in Deathly Hallows was brilliant with all questions being answered. That said, she's not the greatest writer.

I thought it was pretty well written for a kid's book. Still can't believe people compared that Twilight series writer to her. I actually picked and read the first 2 Twilight novels and it was such absolute garbage...

Sweet, my aunt let me borrow the rest of the series related to Jonathan Carroll's Land of Laughs. That was an amazing book.

My sister has the Twilight series, I have not read it yet, I don't think I am going to any time soon. I like the fact that tone of the HP series matured as they went on, it's good for people like me who grew up reading them.

Good point.
I remember disliking the 5th one because he was so angry all the time, but I can see how that that's definitely a plus if you're 13-15 and reading it.

Yeah, it makes sense because he really was a whining, angry teenager at the time. I did get tired of UPPERCASE FONT ALL THE TIME though.

Shouldn't The Pax Cecilia be on MMA? I'd ask there but it's empty.

Whole-heartedly agree there. I seen a Twilight book at one of my friend's house and read a few pages and it just seemed so melodramatic and, dare I say, pretentious.

They should be.
I'll pass it on to whatever genre team you think they'd fit in, and if avant (which seems easily the best fit) I'll add them straight up.

I was thinking avant or post, after reading the genre descriptions I think avant might be best, but I'm nowhere near an expert on the subject.

I'm glad I enjoy the Residents so far, otherwise I'd be mad that I bought 4 albums and a DVD by them today.

Oh, lucky. I gave away money today too, I didn't get anything out of it though. :( Which ones?
