Sure...unless this is one of those things that means something else in the UK LOL

I own the plot of land on which my house sits.  About a 1/3 of an acre, if I recall.

As a general rule, I try not to do that, but I have broken that "rule" a couple of time (and with this review of The Decemberist's debut, I'm about to do it again).  I feel I have good reasons for doing so each time (in the case of The Decemberist's debut, I think only two of the songs are what we would call "prog," but I think this one gets a real pass because of the lyrics are quite simply some of the most masterful ever written).  I can live with that.

I think of a yard as akin to a farm yard with sheep, cows and horses.

A back yard is probably what you mean.  That's what I think of as a small bit of back garden with a garden gate and a wall to bounce a tennis ball against. LOL  Usually consisting of concrete and very little grass.

I would say this: How do you know what Jesus looks like?  Have you ever seen him?  No?  Then get the f**k out of here.

You know, every time I see an elevator I can't help thinking about you in the UK...

You see, Robert, in my view of things, I don't rate an album's prog content, but its music. I may be wrong, but I think giving, say, three stars to the likes of Machine Head or Led Zep 4 just because they're not fully prog is misleading for anyone who reads a review. Unless a different rating system is implemented for PP and PR albums, I'm going to use the existing one, and give the same number of stars I would give to a fully prog album.

Damn language barrier.  Wink

Yes, over here "yard" refers to front yard, back yard, etc. - your little patch of property surrounding your house.  Some can be quite large and have a lot of grass though - and it does take me about an hour to cut all my grass.

A "farm yard" is simply referred to as a farm.

Actually the star descriptions are different, I think - I only just noticed this yesterday.  I think for a PP/PR album close to 5 stars, underneath the album it will read "A masterpiece of rock music" - note the absence of the word "progressive".

Strangely though, Roald Dahl named the sequel to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator.

Surely that should have been a Lift, Roald?

Well see, there you are.  Led Zeppelin's IV was probably my first "exception."  I think that the "prog" parts of the album are absolute masterpieces, while the "non-prog" parts are also excellent.  Miles Davis's Kind of Blue is an album that has nothing to do with prog rock (it's freaking jazz and jazz only), but it's by far my favorite jazz record.  So if I ever reviewed it...sorry, it gets a five.

No, that's me.

That'd be why some Jehovah's Witness accosted me in the street once and tried to convert me.  I think he thought I was the second coming. LOL
