I know,  I must admit I am a little shocked by this.

A while ago there was some allegations made against John Peel too. I'm actually not that shocked by it all.

The BBC has always been an enormous organisation with very little effective systems of accountability. It's been the blind assumption of many British people for many years, that the BBC is a wholesome institution which prides itself on fairness and balance. It's funded through public money (effectively a tax) and all that happens when there is a scandal is the DG resigns, gets a golden handshake then f**ks off into the sunset.

It's oh so very clever, aloof and yet oh so very very fair and balanced outward image is the perfect cover for all manner of skulduggery and perversion. I bet it's rotten to the core..

That said, BBC4 does show some good stuff.

About "their land" don't think you figured out who's land it is. This is an issue being discussed for decades, that will be resolved only by compromise and not by " My great great great great grandfather used to live here " story.

The right wing regime have been disappointed by the other side demands and their way of getting the peace. They feel they don't have a real partner especially not Hamas.

Hamas was never a pro-peace organization, it was born out of the frustration of the people, it is a TERROR organization and it is currently running business in Gaza, so be sure there is no one to talk to there.
Try to find out what the word Hamas means.

West Bank, not Gaza is where I'm talking about. The PLO has been sane for the last 20 years and whenever a crazy Likud government goes into power, they even have trouble with them.

i also mean 1967 borders as a starting point.

The west bank and Gaza are inseparable when making peace. As for the PLO I'll always question their "sanity" and involvement but anyway although appearing in the UN the PLO are quite out of power so it's hard making a peace process with such an ununified organization which doesn't include Hamas or disagrees with the way of achieving peace. PLO and Hamas does not agree between them, that's a problem.

Even when Avoda was in power they didn't come to an agreement with the PLO, not only Likud. The PLO refused to an agreement including about 95% of the 1967 borders that was the best opportunity for both sides.

Said that, I still think Likud could do much more for the peace process but don't forget it takes two for tango.
I never voted for Likud and I guess I never will.

I wish any state in the US could leave the US and join the EU.  I'd be so there.

I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

It is only a matter of time before Texas secedes from the US, although I highly doubt they would join the EU.  On the other hand I could see them invading Mexico.

I doubt the EU would accept Texas as a member as it is far too backward.  The rate of executions in Texas alone would be enough to stop the EU from admitting Texas.

I'll have a good chuckle when those Mexican drug lords decimate the Texas army.

Well, Likud has been in the coalition with a bunch of crazies, who even beat the more moderate sounding Labor, so... You think they'll be good for peace?

I think the PLO wanted 100% of the territories, which is why they refused it.

I think Alex Salmond (leader of the SNP) would like nothing more than to jump into bed with Brussels. Which ironically is the mirror opposite of independence..

He has also said that he wants NATO membership, but doesn't want the UK's nuclear weapons on Scottish soil. I'm sorry, but the man is a tw*t.

If Scotland were to leave the UK, would England deport Tony Blair?

No we love him very much. When he dies he's going to be stuffed and mounted on a plinth in central Baghdad along with your former dear leader.

So that's what you get when you don't compromise at all, more suffering and killing. We really once believed like it might have a chance happening, but not anymore. It could have been over 15 years ago.
Both sides current leadership is not good for peace.

Well this time maybe the more moderate voice will be elected, it seems like more and more people are fed up with Netanyahu because he definitely handled things poorly this last time, submiting to terror. Hamas understood he could bomb Israel and send suicide bombers and get what he demands. And not only that, the middle and low class is being crushed for years economically.

My mom hired someone from Israel for her lab here. The reason why they moved here from Israel is exactly what you're talking about. They said that they needed to save for tens of years in order to afford anything in Tel Aviv, where they lived.
