Were I to obtain the rights to the Star Wars franchise, I would do a movie on Han Solo, his dealings with Jabba the Hutt, and his acquisition of the Millennium Falcon. Would anyone go to see that or would I be barking up the wrong tree?

^ well as a reasonably big SW fan I might find that a bit too small and episodic (like a comic book); a SW feature film should be reasonably large in scale and touch on several different aspects both big and small, not unlike Tolkien

I know, but so is the demand for new episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful. Doesn't mean they should make anymore though...
I realise that demands on new Star Wars movies probably are in their millions, but I fear all of the original magic will escape these new movies(hell, the magic was long gone in the most recent ones if you ask me, and I am a huge fan). One could hope for something akin to the recent Batman success, yet that means reinventing the whole thing, aaaaaand we're talking Disney.... |

Aaghhhhh!!!! This is more upsetting than the prospect of a Romney presidency. I personally think the Skywalker story is played out. That ended with the death of Anakin. Time to move on to other things if they must keep doing movies. Either far into the past of the SWU or into its future. That for me would be the way to go. New characters, new situations. Maybe something covering the 100 year darkness or the first schism would be more interesting to me. |

Yeah so the other thread said Its good news really as I cant get enough of the saga - it literally owns my childhood and I am happy for it Been collecting SW stuff since 1977 Still got a massive SW collection Not as big as some friends but its fun to collect. Its news that Lucas would allow the franchise to be passed over - he said it never would happen but changed mind apparently. Not sure if this is true... but hope it is
