I think the subject matter is a little different - the Middle of italy - eccentric historians - American tourist thinking he's about to become a prezel or something like that......stolte is obsessed with the bible, scientists and or bankers being bad men/women....original sin - gardens and nature being spoilt be mankind...Musically superb but has he ever written a (long) song without some reference to the bible???

Yeah, dead horse is right!

Still, lyrics are a good topic in General.  The reference to Yes lyrics is point taken........though I still find them far superior to the Count Of Tuscany lyrics.  I think you'd be hard pressed to find something I would consider worse (that wasn't written by a 12 year old, anyway......for that matter, Greg Lake wrote the lyrics to Lucky Man when he was 12, and they are practically doctorate level compared to TOC's lyrics!).

Anyway, there is no question that prog in general has quite a few naff lyrics, so I think we can just agree to disagree on this particular song.

Unfortunately no, here in Italy we do not know it

Ahh, it's a Science Fiction show involving a lot of time travel and aliens.  One of the episodes featured a malfunctioning elevator that was in reality a portal to a space ships who were ironically, trying to kill the hero's (and the rest of humanity).

New acquisitions for me!

Beardfish -  Destined Solitare, Mammoth (catching up on them......will get The Void closer to, or maybe for, Christmas)

Karmakanic - In A Perfect World (I know, I'm far behind on this one......I guess I just was concerned by some of the reivews I've read, but I knew I had to pick it up eventually)

Porcupine Tree - Octane Twisted special edition with DVD  (I really like The Incident, so I'm psyched to hear it live......also some of my favorites on CD2).

Good times!

Also, not sure if I mentioned but I got the new Neal Morse a while back, and I like it.  Not as good as Testimony 2, but not bad.  Need to give it some more spins I think, but basically more of the same from Neal, which is a good thing.

In a Perfect world - The opening track is a five star effort - really blew me away......
I don't have the other two (yet).....
I am going to report Tom to the RSPCA - I don't condone beating animals with sticks - especially Horses - I especially like Horse - but could never eat a whole one..... - Aye that! and it should have been a dead horse.......LOL

Big smile

Methinks the horse has ceased to be already.  It's an ex-horse, it's pinning for the fjords.

Nice "man & horsie" picture, making the point of "beating a dead horse".  Right.  Well.....  If the horse is dead
then how can it be talking?   And how exactly can a horse talk???

And lay off my pal Barney, he has an excellent point about Roine's recycling lyrics.  Since most of us here (I certainly do) pay good $$$ for the records we can certainly speak our minds, yes???  Speaking about beating a dead horse, as a huge Spock's Beard fan(I bought ALL their CDs/DVDs, and I journeyed to see them live, I must say Neal Morse is simply a living recycled bin...oops, don't wanna piss off the "Neal saved my soul" peeps...ok...end of mini-rant....

God bless Barney, I hope he never stops keeping it real around here.  Well done lad.  Ok now, we have that all sorted out.....

Has anybody seen the new Led Zep video?  It is very nice in hirez.   Approve

And.....

Rick Wakeman studio version of Journey To The Center.... is coming out soon.  I think it will suck but I will give Rick my $$$ anyway.....

Are we all ready for December 18th????    RUSH 2112 in 5.1 hi rez divinity????

@infandous:  Keep an eye out for a half price 7.1 receiver this Black Friday.  Newegg already has one that is 55% off!

(If I can get just one of you ruffians to get your 5.1 power stick energized, we will be in business.)

New 5.1 Jethro Tull - Thick As A Brick is more Steven Wilson 5.1 magic, by the way....

^ Rick Wakeman Studio version of "JTTCOTE" - hmmm maybe worth a  splurge of cash - or should I wait for people to buy it - hate it and put it on ebay for 50p.......
Lets hope he hasn't recorded it with that bunch of pub musicians he did the live show with....Wakemans Keys and orchestra were fab - the bassist, drummer and guitarist were of punk standard - It was sort of Punk before punk came out really....

as i've posted before, i really like Adam and Eve, however, I cannot get into Vampire and Adam and Eve the song.  of course, i'm not a huge daniel fan, so that could be it.  they both are interesting, but kind of pull the album down for me.  drop those and the little piano thing and this is a superb album.  i know some of you don't like it...i just wanted to touch base with what i've been listening too.
fwiw, i also do not like the cover of adam and eve.  what a huge DUD with the incredible unfold the future before it and the fun paradox hotel after.  oh well.

btw, i joined morse's inner circle.  it's usually 12 bucks, but it's free to join til Dec. 1.  i joined because you get a free copy of neal's re-mix of flying colors.  i definitely want to hear it.  you also 'get to buy' all these exclusive releases.  he's made a sh*tload of music from musicals to everything else.

AND-in the inner circle newsletter neal said that dates are on the books for the boys to record a new TA album next year!!!
Stardust we are.

I love Vampire's View, my favorite track on that album by far.  The little piano thing is just the conclusion of Vampire's View, or should be anyway.  I think it's perfect.  The title track is okay, not my favorite, but a decent track.  Blade Of Cain is great, and so is the short Bodin instrumental.  I like Timelines too for some reason.  The rest I could easily live without.  Neither epic does anything for me really, though Driver's Seat has some decent moments.  I actually like the cover, though I agree it's not the best one.  I actually probably would call Space Revolver or Unfold as the "worst" FK cover art......but I still think they are not bad.

No interest in Morse's inner circle, though it's a cool thing for hard core fans.  I'm not really that interested in his miscellaneous noodling.

Excellent news that new TA album is going to happen, though it had already sounded like it would from what they had all been saying.

I LOVE the "little piano thing" Wink

It's a gorgeous little piece and I regularly put it on introductory TFK CDs for people.

Morse's inner circle? sounds suspiciously like a religious cult to me - have they got your post/zip code or telephone number??? or even email - Morse will be sending Jesus vibes at you and before you know it you'll be sending all your money to his "Pastor" and taking an unusual and disproportinate interest into other peoples sex lives and life choices.......You may even become a MORMON.....LOL

A couple of weeks away and how much have I missed.

This place gets more like Monty Python with every passing day Wink.

I couldn't possibly do much justice to what has gone before.  However I will say I love the piano bit on Adam and Eve too.  I know most don't agree with me but I think Tomas is a wonderful writer (and a very nice guy too).  He did say the third part of his trilogy was coming "as soon as he gets the chance".

I got a bludgeon of cds for my birthday, including The Black Forest, The Music That Died Alone (Tangent) and English Electric Part 1 (BBT).  I've not heard any of them yet as I've been on a huge electronic music kick and have been playing to death the likes of Radio Massacre International, Parallel Worlds, Ian Boddy and Robert Rich that I got.  I'll presume no one has heard of them, nobody ever has.......

Be well all.
