I would go so far to say it's better than everything he's done since Grace for Drowning. I mean come on; Most of the 'prog' albums released that year were better than The Future Bites! I don't know how you can say HC is just a step up from that turd or the one that came before it

I'm just being honest with my opinion, and I think To the Bone was quite an underrated prog-pop album. In fact, I have both TTB and Harmony Codex at a 4/5 at the moment. In any case, I think The Future Bites was the only real dud in his solo discography... but still, Hand Cannot Erase and Grace for Drowning reign supreme for me

I would say it is the poorest album they made in the 70's. I always liked it for sentimental reasons though, and love Maddy Prior's backing vocals on the title track.
