My father had the Black Album blaring in his redneck truck for months. I think that adds to my dislike for Metallica.

haha! Yeah the Metallica I DO like certainly excludes the black album. So  Mustaine may be an epic douchebag but he is way more talented physically and in terms of songwriting than Metallica. Yes, all of them. Also did u grow up in redneck family?

I have said this before, but I plain don't give a f**k about Megadeth for many reasons. Sure, Rust in Peace is great, but it's just one record, nearly everything else in his discography makes me either sick or bored. It's not dark, it's not original, it's not any more complex than a hunred other complicated metal bands, it's not the fastest, the production quality usually sucks cock, and I'll openly admit that I think Mustaine was useless as an overt songwriter. His riffs start all sounding the same to me after Countdown to Extinction. He can piss off with his inanities.
Iron Maiden I like more, at least with Paul and not Bruce. My favorite Maiden album will always be their self titled debut. Never listened to Sepultura, though.
Today I've been listening to Rage Against the Machine(Yay), Danzig(double yay), Eminem(Don't wanna talk about it proactively), Queens of the Stone Age(who cares?), and Mr. Bungle(triple yay).

I always thought Megadeth had a certain intelligent/comedic quality that made their music more interesting.

Yes, I will admit...Mustaine literally lives in Metallica's shadow. They make a sell out album, he makes Countdown to Extinction. They try to rebound from their sh*t (St Anger) he makes The World Needs a Hero. Go back to their thrash roots, he does the same with endgame. Not that it matters, the Deth is far superior! I do like Countdown waaaaay better than Black Album.

Well the music is more complex, and has more interesting song structure. Metallica is cool but they are sooooo straight forward. Their most complex stuff really isn't much so, Kirk can't really solo, a lot of their songs are too long. I never got why given their simplicity they are so beloved on PA and 'Deth is given the sh*ts.
