Rico, you once said you read 200 pages per day, how many words per minute can you read?
No fear, I have recovered from the brink of death and I will be able to be part of the capitalist machine tommorow as long as I can sleep tonight.

I am a cashier at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and I am paid $9/hr, which is better than minimum wage in VA, but lower than the other cashiers. We're not doing too well at the moment, as you would imagine, and seeing adults hand in applications for a part time job requesting like $8/hr makes me sad because I always think of Rob. :(
What about you?

I'm basically a "checker" for a manufacturing company. I gather all of the CAD drawings, files, estimates, design selections......then I review everything for accuracy and make necessary changes....so that the plant can begin fabrication. What turns it from intellectually challenging to sadly stressful is the time allotted to do the job. Because of good corporate practice (meaning too few people doing too much work) you have to get everything just perfect in no time flat or there will be 10 new jobs in your box tomorrow. It's ulcer and heart attack inducing, trust me But I can't complain when you look at the uncertainty so many are facing now in the economy. I'm grateful even though I wish I were doing something I loved.

Name: Thunderchild (for the moment we might change it) We play a bit of both. We do a few covers (Jimi Hendrix - You Got Me Floatin' ; Joe Satriani's version of Going Down, Paul Rodger's cover of Good Morning Little School Girl, Free - Wishing Well) and then we got like 4 original songs at the moment. Only had like 5 gigs so far and we're supporting the Kinks for our next one (well not officially the kinks, The Kast-Off Kinks - original drummer and a bassist and keyboardist who played with the Kinks for a number of years, only the guitarist/singer wasn't a Kinks member)

Yeah, we've been practicing for ages so we get it right. Ah I'm glad we got connections.
