Nice to know I can raid the archives (comparatively few new releases this week), and pull out tunes that have passed listeners by. As ever some neglected goodies will be revealed tomorrow night.

Just received the new album from NIma (of Merge) with his side project: Mergefactory. Listened to three tracks so far this morning - very superior dance but better still memorable tunes and greater vocals. SO next week expect some samples from Mergefactory.

Good McBride, I mostly wanted to hear more from him, Garrett and Coliauta, Corea & "McLaughckin" are already classics for me.

Garrett totally rocked in the "Five Peace Band" concert by the way, after the intermission all his solos left me in cloud nine. Pure jazz, with virtuosity, energy and feeling altogether.

Yep, RFH. Their show in Bucharest was the third of the tour, after Monte Carlo and I don't remember what other place (Prague, perhaps?).

We've got the local jazz festival coming up at the end of November. Anouar Brahem among the big names...

I suspect you do better than we do in the UK - too often treated as a musical backwater by international acts

weirdest of the five, Colaiuta - but I knew that he's into modern styles.

The whole album is somewhat off the wall, esp wrt jazz rock fusion, but made the contrast with the previous 4 tracks
