I would like to share my appreciation of Henry Cow with a room full of drunk people too. I wouldn't waste my time on rehearsed songs, it would be much better to go to the straight improv, I love it and I know everyone else will too. Koenjihyakkei would be another winner.

Add to that any form of Death/Extreme/Black Metal.

Oh, can you imagine the pub bouncing along to Abba after Meshuggah's Chaosphere gets a spin?

I could just imagine putting on something like Univers Zero or Faust or Magma or any other good band in a pub...they'd probably try to lock me away somewhere. LOL

Anything with lots of dissonance really, most people aren't used to anything more scary sounding than a badly tuned guitar in there music. I believe the practice of playing annoying music on a jukebox is called Wyatting.

Yeah, that's right.  Well, when (if) I finally manage to find a job here at college, I may just have to start going to bars and doing a bit of Wyatting.

I live out in the country, so there are lots of hip hop wannabe/fans and country music fans. I am actually quite anxious to try and see if I can find any Merzbow fans out here.

The new Alice in Chains album is amazing.

There, I just had to get that out of my system.

He's very good, but unfortunately very much a secondary vocalist with Jerry Cantrell singing most leads. He's great too, but I love it every time DuVall is brought to the forefront, like in Last of My Kind. He really does a great job, hopefully the next album (hopefully there is one) puts him in the lead.

Guess I'm gonna have to check it out.  I love me some Alice in Chains.  I can't choose a favorite album from them.

Although if I had to...I'd go with Jar of FliesBig smile

Jar of Flies Heart One of my favourite EP's ever definitely. I'd say Dirt is their best studio album (the new one is second, then s/t and Facelift) but overall my favourite AiC release is Unplugged.

Good one too Smile I was just thinking about it a while ago, and I think that the first thing I ever bought from my favourite record store in Helsinki (where I nowadays spend half my paycheck every month) was the Jar of Flies / Sap double cd. That was a beginning of a long and beautiful relationship Heart

The only thing I've not heard is the Live album.  Is that worth getting?  I know it has "God Am" on it, and I rather like that tune.

^Some Maneige perhaps? Wink Or Images & Words, at least here it's hitting the spot very nicely.

God Am is one of the definite highlights of the album, puts the studio version to shame big time. Layne does a fantastic job on that track, which is recorded I think on the second to last show he ever did in his life. There are five tracks from the two last shows he did. Live is probably my second favourite AiC release ever, so it's highly recommended Smile Man in the Box, Junkhead and Them Bones are other favourites, the latter two mainly because of slightly different vocal harmonies.

The studio version never really struck me that much, but the live, oh yes Heart You really must hear that if you like the song.
