You probably mean "Lead", the metal for which the chemical symbol is Pb. The German word for "lead"" is "Blei", which bears some resemblance to "Bly". The English word is pronounced like the past tense of the verb "to lead", "led", but spelled like the present tense "lead". Quite confusing.

I'm coming to the end of the third book in a Sci-Fi triology called Coyote by Allen Steele.  I've read tonnes of Sci-Fi and I'd rate this series as one of the best.

If anyone's read it and knows of similar works, I'd love to hear about it.  Cheers.

I've tried these a few times, but have never been able to "connect" with the books - I may try again sometime (after all it took me a long time to be able to get into Tolkein, then one day, it just clicked...).

Not too keen on the film either - some nice performances (especially by the White Witch & the two beavers), but overall it failed to grab my interest, and again I couldn't "connect" with any of the main characters.

I havenīt seen the film Narnia, Jim Garten, I always read the book first. I also read that CS lewis was a big Christian, so when I was reading Narnia I took that into account. Aslan the lion being Jesus and the creation of the world, the ressurection etc.
Itīs also strange that Tolkien and CS Lewis were the best of friends.

I've heard that Doctor Faustus is a great book too, have you read that one?
