A fantastic release! The remix is more than welcomed......The vocals and especially drums are more out front, more clarity around them both. The low end is bone jarring in places, especially side 2. The booklet is awesome! Some great pictures of the album cover photo shoot. Well worth the price of admission at US$29.00....

The remix is by James Guthrie from 2018, the mastering is done by Bernie Grundman, Joel Plante and James Guthrie. The lacquer is cut by Bernie, BG in the runout area..

I played it again last night at a higher volume and man it sounds awesome!

I just wonder how good analog audio would sound today if just half of all the ressources spent on development
and improvement of digital audio instead were spent on improvement and further development of analog audio.
quality over quantity, and all kind of PopcoRn almost beyond

Most music consumers can't afford vinyl and the required equipment/storage/maintenance that it entails, that's why digital audio and streaming came to be.

There has been improvements in analog audio since the 70's, no??? Wink

Oh okay. Different mastering engineering for different mediums. Gus Skinas is doing the SACD.

I can't believe that to be true, as quite good turntables have been rather cheap - even used vinyl has become very expensive online.

Digital audio came to be due to less sell of analog, for different reasons, while in the market economy there's constant need for growth.

I am only going to say, go to an audio store if you are near any and go listen to one of their analog setups. Normally they have all ranges of prices you can audition. Trying to explain to someone what LPs sound like is nearly impossible, what you think sounds good may not be what I think sounds good.

All I can tell you is my analog setup easily bests my digital setup.

All I can tell you is middle class folk can't afford a $25,000 system with a dedicated listening room.

Please let us know how you would put together a analog setup for $500, or less, that would beat a digital setup.

What annoys me is that we’ll have a beautiful sounding .wav file and then every site wants .mp3, which crushes the bits and reduces sound quality. I remember the beautiful sound quality of a 1960s Teac reel-to-reel that my father had. Digital will always be an approximation, but it can get darn tooting close. The problem is that I can sometimes detect bit crushing after typical conversion to mp3. It’s like when video streaming suddenly goes bad and everything get pixelated.

You can find a lot of nice used gear that will get you great sound for less than buying new. $500 may be low but for sure $1k will get you started with something very nice.
Nothing is cheap anymore..........Cars cost $40K to start Confused.

Yamaha A-S301 Integrated Amp w/internal Phono preamp with 60watts per channel = $350.00
Music Hall mmf-1.3 turntable w/Audio Technica cartridge = $350.00
Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 Bookshelf speakers $330.00 pr

I'm not sure what digital setup you have, does not matter. The above system is only an example of what you can get for around a grand.....Used gear is also an option.

I use the same setup for analog as for digital, except from a turntable vs a CD-player - but that presumes an amplifier having the special turntable amplification (RIAA / Phono preamp). If not, you need additionally an external Phono preamp.

As I see it, for the same money you get very significantly better sound with analog medium than with digital,
but I guess that the minimum cost of analog is higher than of digital.

Everything is relative, especially prices. For me audio gear is a hobby, just like fixing up cars, motorcycles, collecting Pez dispensers or gun collecting LOL
You spend what you can afford, if you want something better then you save up for it, or trade up. I never use credit to buy my gear, I save up and then pay cash.
Just like buying records or CDs, pay cash.......It's entertainment.

That's how I look at it as well, but it was an argument to Grumpy's point of view that analog audio is more expensive than digital.

Gotcha, and yes it's not more expensive.....they both can be inexpensive as well very expensive. There are DACs that can run 6 figures, as well turntables that fetch $100K. As well DACs that run less than a hundred bucks....
