And my congratulations to Pat's review. Incredibly well-written and top-notch humor. Thumbs Up

Too bad is was just as moronic, underneath all that humor.

Yet I'm fully convinced that treating Rob's work like that counted much more than Alex and David getting cheered up. Thoughtful, indeed. Clap

disgusting

Yeah it was moronic as it was written directly with quotes from the ever intelligent people of this forum.

Not that you would have missed the point of the act itself being pointless, singularily STC-good-laugh-worthy, plus (see above in bold) ---- but, fine, let me play by your guidelines, and read again your review (quickly enough deleted, thus again purely gang 's fun worthy; with the exception of a handful of outside readers, nobody even knows what's it about/what happened - so zero point for impressing anybody, or reaching out to anyone through this manifest.)

1. You quoted reviewers who found STW one of the best symphonic albums ever, so if you think they've written stupid stuff, it's them to chat with.

2. Most of the other motives are your own fiction humour, never mentioned in the big argument over at "Reviews discussion" (seriously, how frequent did you ever heard someone rating high something because the artist is posting on this site - thus, sarcasm). So you only have yourself to credit for what, inside the review, was pure blab.

3. So we get to the "vested interest" catchphrase, which is part of a gone-bad conversation, belonging to a sinister admin over which your's and your gang's and now (very likely) the two special-guests' grudge will never mellow until the age of 60, and yet distorting an initially valid, if not plausible assumption, distorted only by how the conversation went (bad enough, I agree) and how outraged the replies to it were. So perhaps a re-read of the conversation, with focus on the beginning. But it's me this time who's blabing, because attention won't be paid anyway, anyhow. It's all down to this remarkable catchphrase: "vested interest". Vested interest, said the sinister admin, and now "we" (you/the gang & guests) must show to others what a sinister fellow that person is. Or, at least, to ironize/mock it to death. Which is high-school level, tops.

That review's gone already....

On my third time through now. The mix is very rough, there are some simple things that could be done and really help the album out. Harry gave some pointers and I'd be happy to give some ideas too if desired. Though Rob has said multiple times he's pretty burnt on working on this album, ready to move on to the next one.

I totally second the opinion that both 1 and 5 star ratings are insane for this album.
You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

wish I coulda read that. Sounds offensive.

Although no one cares if you don't know the people in the band, so it seems. Would we have defended Torman Maxt if they were avid forum members?

Some of us would have, definitely.

Vested interest.
*sigh*
One unthoughtful comment and there's sh*t flying around all of the forum.

Oh, the only good part (pun) was about how the production would count for how much you'd rate the album. It's indeed an ongoing discussion/debate, that still needs its clarification.

Perhaps, if not tad annoying of the conflict sparked, and the further need to mock based on his work.

First off STC is not a hive colony. I wrote my review and posted it independent of any secretive plot of STC domination. Secondly, while the review was humorous it wasn't posted as a joke. I had a very serious motive for posting as I think is obvious to most people.

Alright now since the point of the review seemed to have eluded you in its bluntness I'll make it clear. I was insulting the people who seemed to be leading an all out attack on the idea that STW could be a five star album. I haven't heard the album, but its actually quality is irrelevant. The fact is people have opinions quite independent from your own. The trend here that such opinions must adhere to some sick kind of PA general knowledge is disgusting and detrimental to a forum. In regards to you point (2) I would suggest that you reread those discussions as people were explicitly saying that his album was being rated higher because he's a poster here. Everything else I've included has been spoken by more than one person at this site.

Then in regards to (3). I have no grudge with Tony. There's little reason to suggest I have one honestly. I'm just responding to things that he said in that thread which I found to be offensive and childish.

Anyway thanks for including yourself in this with your false assumptions and terrible reading comprehension.

Simon Brown.

Actually, my son may turn out to be quite a drummer (he beats on everything with sticks, but then again, maybe all kids do).

As for the mystery of the drums LOL, here:

http://www.fxpansion.com/index.php?page=1

I live in an apartment- there's no way I can store drums, let alone play them or record with them (even if I could play more than a waltz or a straight four).  The only drummer I currently associate with is my dad, and he doesn't own a set and lives three states away.

There are some necessary compromises that come with being in financial straits most of the time.  I love the music, so I just do it.  I don't let the technical limitations bother me- if I did, I'd never release anything.

Here's the full text:

It's been awhile since I've written a review, but I felt it was time to come out of my slumber.
And for this monumental occasion I've chosen to review Epignosis' Still The Waters. I have to say that Still The Waters is one of the finest symphonic prog albums I've had the pleasure of being introduced to this year. Actually I can say even more about this fantastic recording. It is probably the best symphonic prog album I've ever heard. This album is progressive rock.

Now what justifies such lofty praise. Well I can say with confidence that this album is a clear five starer because Epignosis is a member of the forums. I mean I didn't actually listen to the album, but comeon the guy is on the forum it has to be the best right. Like is Jon Anderson sitting on forum talking to us. Like nope didn't think so. I mean I saw him sitting around the forum making all these post and I was like omg I'm totally gonna go review his album lol like how cool is this?

That's the only reason this album is good. I mean seriously it doesn't even have professional production how could I legitimately like it? And comeon this is 2009 not 1972, how could a real prog album be made in this decade. And you know I'm not even 25 yet my opinion doesn't mean much. I don't even listen to music I just look at the pretty pictures on the box.

But yah seriously this album is like the best ever. I'm absolutely sure of it.

Or am I????????????

I hope I don't have a vested interest in writing this review. Doing so would be an insult to the integrity of the site and its most humble collabs.
