Have you seen My Name is Bruce? It's really his baby, and they're making a sequel. He uses just about every catchphrase he ever had in any of the Evil Dead trilogy, plus some from other movies. I thought it was a funny movie, especially for fans of his other work.

Well I don't do anything either, but I absolutely hate spending money and I feel like at this stage in my life there is very little I can afford. It was a glorious day when my checking account went over $10,000, even though I only amassed that much money because my parents are nice and my parents only make me pay for gas and community college. But if I start going to real college and my parents are tapped out by my sister also going to college (if I go back next fall we will be in for the same four years), that's not very much money. And if I had put it all in Amex in March I would have doubled it ARGH!

WAIT, you're dropping out of college? Stonebeard, you and I are the lost brothers of poor decisions.
I really really regret not dropping money into something at 7,000, but I the stock market is still such a big scary thing I was unsure. And in my defense, I was almost positive Amex was going to need to be bailed out by out somebody. Diner's Club was the first credit card in existence and they had to be swallowed up by Citi to stay afloat.
But that is a diversion from the fact that stonebeard is dropping out! What are you going to do? Get a sh*tty retail job? Because while it's good exercise and, like, life experience, the pay is sh*t.

I'm also really sick of saying I'm making bad decisions. I'm surrounded by ambitious f**kers who want to start companies and invest in stocks. God, working salt of the earth jobs may not be that great but going to school for however many boring f**k years is no better. If you like what you do then fine, but I don't need people lecturing me about not getting a degree yet, as if it's a death sentence. People are just scared, ignorant and honestly elitist. As if I should be pitied. I do have some dignity, and I don't need anyone's sympathy about it.
Anyway, the thing I could most love can't be found in this place. I want to make music, and n I don't give a sh*t if I make money with it or not. but college is a timesuck on an epic scale, and I'm learning nothing I care about.

I think my sister likes working at McDonald's, but then she doesn't pay for anything besides the gas to be driven there and back. I need a job, but I hate the prospect of doing the work that can literally be done by a machine. Also, I find it hard to pretend to care about customers, even when it the customer is me.

Yeah, I should go to bed. We actually haven't talked about RIO that much lately, but if I have any salient thoughts I can PM you since I feel like you are very similar to me a year from now. I can't shake the feeling that going back to college would be a mistake, but I feel like there isn't anything else for me to do that doesn't lead to abject failure. I'm just saying, look at what Mike as done while we've jerked off and posted about it on the internet
Although I really wanted to post that video because Shark Attack Productions made me lol.
Also, if BB&B had no music or TV advertisements I wouldn't dislike it at all except that I can never get things done fast enough for them. My pay is kind of sh*t, but I got lucky and it's not too bad considering this is the first real job I've had. I actually get paid more than my supervisors!
The minor pleasures of working retail isn't brightening someone's day by telling them about towels, it's the knowledge that you have the knowledge help this person find whatever crap it is they're looking for. One interesting thing today was that this woman called from Stafford, which is 45 minutes away, desperate for a Soundspa Lullaby because her two year old wouldn't fall asleep without it. If she is willing to do that just to get him to shut up, I can't say I look forward to having children.

God I'm tired.
I would say we could continue talking about this stuff, but then people will talk about RIO for 20 pages before I wake up.
Ehn.
Actually I don't notice a ton of RIO talk, a lot of the music talk spans over a pretty wide amount of music. There is plenty of serious talk here too, as long as you keep the conversation going.

She promised in the email that we would move far away from here, far away from everywhere. Hell yeah.
She did say "love matters a lot in life", which isn't exactly what I want to hear. But if we can develop something more special than that boring perspective, why not?
