Nope, it's Robert M. Pirsig's Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.

I started reading it once.  I kind of got bored.  I'll try again one day.

I've never once listened to an Audio Book.  They just don't really appeal to me.

The benefits for being a subscriber on RYM are ridiculous:

Change your username
See your friends' average rating on artist pages
See enhanced stats on your user page: collection by artist, genre, and ownership
Allow users to comment on your lists
See personalized recommendations when browsing genre pages
Customize RYM's fonts and colors using themes.
See genre and label information on your collection page, and browse your collection by label/genre.

People can already comment on my lists LOL

I'm not sure. He gets you inside the instinctual and intellectual processes that create religions, mythologies, arts, etc., which is absolutely fascinating. But he never questions those, his position is completely disengaged ideologically, a pure scientific one. As an atheist I think that would frustrate you when reading his treatises and essays. And I don't think his litterary works (which he always wrote in Romanian) were ever translated.

BTW I just entered today my goodreads account for the first time in months (I was emailed a friend request, otherwise I don't think I would have remembered). Did anyone ever find it actually useful? I gave up after adding 40 and something books to my profile.

I find it useful, much like I find RYM useful.  I even have editor status.  But I don't read enough books to take advantage of it.

I like to know what books I own and what I've read.  I also like to know what my friends like.

Read online.  That's what Project Gutenberg is for.  I realise that's older books but there's a lot of classics out there.
