I assume emo refers to a style rather than the word emotional.

In the 10 years or so Ive known the term "emo" it's always been describe self-pity post-pop-punk bands, some of which like hardcore.

Sometimes, the term was used in similar ways to the way "gay" is used.

However, I assume the "emo" thing has been over for at least a couple of years, yes?

Emo is kind of underground now. I haven't liked emo since the '90s anyway.
