My God, Rouge Ciel is fracking incredible. Yet another big thank you to James!

Glad to be of service.
Is that the debut?
|
Yes. I'll be ordering their second from Wayside very soon. I was blown away.

I never saw that spelled out, but I guess that explains how bands with a few prog songs are "prog-related" and an album or two are "full fledged prog." It doesn't make much of a difference to me, though. There is too much music outside the realms of prog for me to really focus on it and make a big deal when somebody else attributes a label, different from mine, to a band.

The RIO Room guys seem to think that he belongs in Eclectic based on the majority of his work, and, based on what I've heard from him, I would agree. There are many more One Size Fits Alls in his discography than Weasels Ripped My Flesh.
I'm still upset about Taal, actually, because in the obscurity of Avant/RIO, Skymind was in the top 20. Now with only 35 ratings they're buried under mountains of the most popular bands here, and nobody will ever see them unless someone mentions them on the forum. Which is very rare these days.

I used to like Daft Punk. Then I realized that every song was only 10 seconds of music repeated for 5 minutes.

Fail. If you're not familiar with even a full Rush album, then I can't take your opinion seriously.

Yeah, I never found Zappa to be all that avant all the time like he was made out to be really. T'would be a good idea for Taal to Avant me thinks too. And yeah, I never found Rush to be particular progressive outside of a few albums, But that's like a lot of those Symphonic Prog bands too:P although I don't support Rush for prog related though, leave 'em where they are.

Taal is fine in Avant or Eclectic... I was leaning towards Avant, but I don't want people constantly switching them back and forth. Zappa pretty much should get his own sub-genre called "Zappa".
