On November 16, 2006, two Jedi delivered a protest letter to UN officials in recognition of the International Day for Tolerance. They requested that it be renamed the "UN Interstellar Day of Tolerance" and cited the 2001 Census showing 390,000 Jedi in England and Wales.

LOL

I'm genuinely curious.  I'm not having an epiphany (neither shall I be on January 6th).  I oddly find Theology interesting, even though I'm not remotely religious.
When Augustus Caesar came to power (or one of Julius' descendants), he practiced Christianity, and he outlawed all other religions; that is why Christianity has survived all of these years, and the Greek/Roman religions became part of history.

How can that be if Augustus reign ended in 14 after Christ? Confused
Good question.  Just something planted in my memory from a long, long, long time ago.  I know that all of the rulers following Augustus Caesar were called Augustus Caesar as their title, which is why I added the "or one of his descendants".

Yes, I understand that, Scott.  However, Roman and Greek mythology and even ancient Egyptian mythology are taught in school as mythologies.  So they were never actually forgotten.  People still discussed them.  Homer still had his Odyssey and Iliad.

Pagans still exist too.  In fact, there were more Pagans on the 2001 United Kingdom Census than Atheists.  As for Jedi's:

Quote The inclusion of the question enabled the Jedi census phenomenon to take place in the United Kingdom. In England and Wales 390,127 people stated their religion as Jedi, as did 14,052 people in Scotland.

Wow.

I put myself down as an Atheist.

Being 100% serious here, every religion base themselves on mythology and around that they build religious knowlege. So the Bible would be the Christian mythological book and the teachings of the Church our religious knowlege, but it is not necessary to teach Christian mythology at schools because the majority of the population knows it, wile the same isn't true for the Roman/Greek equivalent.

Not actually. His line ended wih Nero Cesar. Augustus was merely a title you had as the emperor in the mid/late empire (begining a bit after the reigh of the Five Good Emperors).

This is true.  But Constantine was also known as Augustus Caesar, which is probably where my confusion comes into play.  As I remembered it, the Roman mythologies were disbanned by Augustus Caesar, it just happens that the Augustus Caesar in question was Constantine.  Wink

I love AV, Anthony.  Mmm.  Which album?

And yes, it is Constantine who introduced Christianity to our shores.  My namesake wrote a book about it.  Maybe I should read it. LOL
