Excellent polllap from Vettel but that was one crazy hour, I can't believe how close the times were.

I think the Lotus's are going to be a real threat tomorrow.

Neither of the HRTs (OK let's be realistic...Karthikeyan) is in last!
My word some improvement!

They will be winning titles in no time.

I would not mind a strong day from Lotus, maybe a Kimi win.
I called a good day from Alonso, and we'll see but boy is he down there.

Well, Nelson Piquet, Jr. just won his first NASCAR race in the Nationwide race today at Road America.  It's a good day!

Amazing how close the F1 qualifying was, Alonso missing Q3 being only 0,218 s off the fastest Q2 time.
This circuit is notorious for the difficulty for overtaking so I wonder if the race will be exciting, maybe this year with DRS and the the fact that it's going to be pretty hot will make things a bit more fun.

7 different cars in the first 8 positions, I wonder how long has it been since the last time that happened.

Every time I see Piquet's name I think about his fathers crash at Indy during practice.

Incredible F1 race, I thought it would be boring but it was anything but it.

Alonso drove brightly regardless of the problems by Vettel, Grosjean and the incident between Hamilton and Maldonado.
Good to see Kimi and Schumi in the podium again too.

Amazing, Valencia provided an exciting race for once. Amazing drive from Alonso to win from 11th and with the surprise failure on Vettel's car and Maldonado driving into Hamilton, it now gives Alonso a strong cushen in the championship, 20 points clear of Mark Webber.

I see Ryan Hunter-Reay has won his second race on the trot at Iowa last night with team mate Andretti second. Franchitti's bad year continues as his engiine blew on the warm up lap. I think that puts Hunter-Reay about equal on points with Power with Hinchcliff not far behind. Looks like the Andretti team is coming good again, for the first time since Toyota pulled out 6 years ago.

Watching a replay (since Fox doesn't air it live) so I'm avoiding seeing any results, but all I'll say right now is:

HOLY f**kING sh*t VETTEL

IDK if Alonso will hold off Grosjean but holy sh*t, what a curveball.

WOW!
WOW

Un-f**kin-believable

What an amazing raceClap

ALONSO!
Just getting to third made my day, I was ecstatic. Can't believe he got this win. And deserved too, helluva drive just getting to 2nd place from 11th...

This was Vettel's in the bag and as far as I know, still no idea what happened.
My heart sank for Grosjean.

But hey, an Alonso Kimi top 2 I'll take any dayBig smile

Holt sh*t. Schumi and Webber went on a tear at the end! I'm not even sure where they came from. Epic results, especially Webber grabbing 4th all the way from 19th!
Both Force India's in the points with a strong single stopper from Di Resta.

Poor ol Jenson managed to grab some points and congrats to Perez and Senna for rounding out the points.

That was 100% Lewis' fault. I'm sure James will somehow find a way to put it on Alonso...but his car was falling off and he shouldn't have pushed it so hard.  Alonso let em pass him last week, Lewis pushed way too hard and deserved to lose his podium for his foolishness. Shame he took out Maldonado having a great race.

Amazing race.

Missed the Indy race but is indeed very cool to see Hunter-Reay win again, and now 2nd in the points!
As I've said, have always been a casual fan of his so this is pretty cool.

And he's a ways back but Kanaan grabbed another podium and is climbing up the board!
Great stuff.

^You need to learn some maths Brian, Alonso leads by 20 points.

I'll disagree with you, completely Maldonado's fault. It was 2 laps from end and they were fighting for a podium so Lewis wasn't about to let him go, particularly as unlike at Montreal you just cant drive past people with ease here. He was on the outside and Lewis was struggling for grip so it was pretty easy to guess that Postor could be forced out wide and Lewis may not have had a choice in the matter as he may not have been able to take the corner any tighter. As for the contact, Maldonado was off track and Lewis was under no onbligation to let him back on. This is pretty well accepted, if your off track it's your own job to get back on safely regardless of whether you're fighting for position or not and their are plenty of examples of this over the years (Kimi and Schumy on the last lap at Magny-Course in 2002 comes to mind).

He still finished 10th with Senna 11th. Can't believe Brunno got a drive through, it was Koby's fault for sticking his nose in to a door that was always going to close.

And Vergne was an idiot who destroyed not only his own race, but inadvertantly his team mates as well.

Oops, I just glancedLOL
That would make since given his win and 0 from Vettel and Hami.

Well we shall agree to disagree because frankly, IDK what you're talking about. It sucks...it sucks ass but give up the position. OR if you're gunna fight...running Pastor off the road? Though I will agree Pastor wasn't clean either.
OK really it was just a racing incident, and who wont fight for the podium? But really that was dumb. Hamilton would've still had a top 6. Now nothing...

It was totally Koby's fault, I was pretty shocked at the call.

Congrats to Alonso though...sounds like a hell of a drive.

Yeah, looking back on it now...I can give it 50/50.
Both were being aggressive fighting for a podium and you can understand that.

Still though, Pastor was only out that far because Lewis did push him out there and his tires were starting to give up.
Seems a bit much to put it ALL on Maldonado, but it really does mean nothing since both were out of the points.

Way to early to count chickens given how we've seen such wild point swings with just one race...but Alonso is in a good position. I'm trying to keep away thoughts of a third title lol
2 is impressive, but something about 3... goes from really good to elite territory.
